Default Fingerprints gig on youtube!

I was randomly going through youtube today, and I think some brilliant soul has put up the entire Fingerprints set from Nov. 11 (right?)

I haven't gotten through the entire thing yet, but what I have heard sounds great! The sound from the video is definitely good enough to make a decent rip of (read: someone please rip it and post it up here! )

Part 1:

Someone posted on dime that Fingerprints is going to release an official soundboard recording of the show, but it'll only be available at the store in Cali. I'm very curious about this gig now, off to watch!

If that's true, there'll be a whole lot of people looking into whether Fingerprints ship internationally or not...

Wow. I hope it's true! But I'm pretty sure they don't ship internationally, they don't even have a website - do they?

We'll have to keep our ears open for more news on this.

here's his post:

Quote:
***Heads up everyone*** Fingerprints Records in Long Beach just received permission from Damien to officially release part or all of the board recording from his in-store last week.... they're still working out the details. If you couldn't get a wristband this is the next best thing. It was an amazing day.... the whole band in Fingerprints in front of maybe 200 people.... as intimate as it gets. If you've never heard anything from their soundboard before trust me--DON'T MISS THIS-- it puts out beautiful sound. Look for it at their store in the near future. Also, good possibility Joseph Arthur's in-store will see the light of day as well.
O'B
and here's the website:

Fingerprints

I definitely agree there - it's an interesting perspective, especially when all the heads are in the way! Oh how I wish the recorder would have zoomed in a little more often though

And, I'm loving this version of Rootless Tree.

Thanks for the link tuckatangent, let us know if you find out any more info about an official release...

hehehe, that was me and im glad you like it. I was lucky enough to win a wristband to see the show, and then was even luckier to get the store to give me another wristband so my friend could get in too, and she had a camcorder, so she filmed it for me. so i got to mindlessly enjoy the show while she taped it for all of us to enjoy. so big thanks to ashley for filming it, the store for giving me another wristband to get her in, and well, i guess me, for uploading it hope you all enjoy, it was a brilliant show!

haha, yeah we were tucked behind this cd rack with about two or three rows of people in front of it. vyvienne was totaly blocked from our view which sucked, but im glad my friend ashley at least zoomed when she did. i remember at one point she was zooming in on Damien at the piano and then some girl puts her cell phone in the picture, and im going, no film lisa instead. lol oh and you can also at some point here me pleading for lisa to sing then go. they didnt, but they did on monday night (i was there too)

That would be amazing! Oddly enough, I was actually just about to message you on youtube to see if you'd send me the originals (and if you knew about EF, because I'm sure they'd love to host the videos here too!)

I'm glad you had an amazing time, and even more glad that you're willing to share it with the rest of us!

And, I wish Damien had listened to you about playing Then Go, that song definitely does not get played as much as it should.

And yes, THANK YOU for uploading this (and Ashley for taping it!) I fully stand by my "some brilliant soul has uploaded it" comment

I've spoken to one of the employees at Fingerprints and he said that they recorded the gig, and it was now at the label/management level on whether/when to release it.

From a Fingerprints e-mail...

Damien Rice Live at Fingerprints ...Warts And All

From our little stage to your speakers
Damien Rice at Fingerprints

It would be pretty tough to be more excited about just about anything than we are about Damien Rice deciding to release an album of tunes recorded right here on our really not quite so humble of a stage (any more, anyway.). Those of you who were lucky enough to catch this once in a lifetime performance probably don't need to read any further. For those who have only heard about it, as far as we can tell, it was Damien's first ever in-store performance, and is one of only two live recordings he's ever allowed to be released. There are still elements being worked out, but right now it's scheduled to hit the shelves on October 9th. We will be taking pre-orders beginning this Wedsday. All pre- orders will be entered to win a poster pack, including an original print of our in-store poster and another one from Damien's Show at the El Rey on 5/30/03 that is signed by the full band (there will only be one winner in this drawing.)

Here is the track listing for ...Warts and All:
1. Cannonball
2. Coconut Skins
3. Intro
4. Grey Room
5. Volcano
6. Intro
7. Rootless Tree
8. I Remember

The pre-order price is $5.54 (which gets you out the door for a cool six bucks) and it gets you in the drawing for the poster pack.

You can watch a pretty great fan video here and here.

I've been wondering about that, too.
But it's not available yet to pre-order at fingerprintsmusic.com, is it?

And does anyone know if awarestore ships to Europe? Cause I can't find any info about international shipping rates...
