Default Explosions in the Sky

Last night I saw a band on TV called Explosions in the Sky. It's all instrumental, which I don't normally like but this was pretty cool - it would be nice for background music while working or studying. The song I saw just had guitars and drums, don't know if they use other instruments or not.

They are mostly guitar, but in their latest album they have used some piano too.

I used to love EITS, and i still do really, i just havent listened to them in a while, though lately ive been watching Friday Night Lights (which is an absolutely amazing show, but that's a subject for another time) and EITS do the soundtrack for it, kind of reignited my interest.

They do create some seriously beautiful music, i think i made a topic about them like 3 years back but no-one was interested, haha.

Ive also seen em live a couple of times too, its a pretty incredible show.

I'd like to get one of their albums, maybe I'll try the newest one.

Great band, I love them... Check out their album "Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place" (2003), my favorite from them

I agree, their newest is alright (which is called 'all of a sudden i miss everyone' if i remember correctly) but if you are gonna give them a listen, i would suggest starting with Earth is not a cold and dead place, it is their strongest.

In fact, now that i remember, there are some amazing moments in that album.

Might listen to it myself

What everyone else said, get "The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place."

I second that. Although the latest has some fine pieces, too:

But I must say, compared to Godspeed You! Black Emperor, EITS are almost pop...
