good morning songs
i just downloaded a PC alarm clock that you can program to play mp3's (instead of the annoying beeping or clock radio kind that wrecks your head in the morning) and i'm looking for suggestions for some good morning songs.. ones you would like to wake up to..
here's the alarm clock if anyone else wants it: http://www.ornj.net/citrus/ it starts off quiet and fades in so it doesn't jolt you awake, it's kind of nice. right now i have drive by incubus on there.. Last edited by SisterMidnight; 11-15-2007 at 12:31 AM. |

ooh nice choice dawn.. perfect - nice melody, uplifting message and good energy but not too heavy (and bono's voice is a plus, certain singers i just can't listen to first thing in the morning..)

if i don't have it on beep i'd just lie there and listen to the songs... then i'd be late... hehe... but as for good songs...
Guns N' Roses - Welcome to The Jungle Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child of Mine just because the guitar in the beginning rockss! hehe but really.. the songs i'd pick would be mellow songs probably.. maybe some Pete Yorn, maybe damien rice... it could be anything really... heh, i'm no help at all..

^ interesting..
sweet child o' mine is a contender because i love the guitar riff in that song (i had volcano for awhile for the same reason for vyv's cello riff..) welcome to the jungle might be a bit too heavy though.. |

i'm very pro-beeping because things that gradually fade in tend to just incorporate themselves into my dream and it takes me forever to wake up. and then i'm never quite sure where sleep ends and reality begins.
when i was in high school, though, i woke up the sublime album that started out with the barking dog for about a month. i wouldn't recommend it. sorry, i'm not being helpful. i'm just feeling oddly chatty tonight.

I have my Cel Phone wake me up every morning to either 9crimes or Ray Lamontagne's Shelter...
They are both very enjoyable but Shelter reeeeeally makes me smile everytime it wakes me up ... so if you like Ray you should try that one!

Today I wook up to Bubbly by Colbie Caillat and I thought it was a sweet way to start the day. You've probably know the song by now if you live in the US...
Years ago I used to wake up to this song, Wake Up Boo by the Boo Radleys, very very appropiate, it goes like 'Wake Up It's a Beautiful Morning, The Sun Shines la la la la'!!!!!!

that's why it's so important to find the right song.. i'm trying to use the blurring dreams and reality effect to my advantage, if it's a good song i'm hoping it will blur reality enough to fool me into wanting to wake up besides i really can't take that beeping anymore.. be careful with using just one song for a long period of time. I use my mobile phone as an alarm clock, and for a while I used Blower's Daughter as wake-up song - but then I started hating the song a little because it woke me up in the morning - for a while I couldn't stand it when I heard "..and so it is...". And we're talking about one of my fave tunes here! Goddamn *sshole Damien Rice, waking me up at 6.30 in the morning with his stupid little song, how dares he...
Be warned, Melissa!

the same thing happened to me with coltrane's 'like someone in love' < one of the best tunes EVER. i don't hate it, coz that's impossible, but i might have been really close. another con of having a great song as a wake up alarm is that you might just sleep it through, as a lullaby i mean. btw, my alarm sound is a very very very annoyin rooster, and i place my cellphone away from the bed, sometimes i even hide it, so there's no way i'm gonna oversleep with that bastard crowing the **** out of me
stupid cock don't let me sleep
