Just to get a discussion going... For me, 1. Cold Water This became my absolute favourite after i saw it live for the first time. He told the people to turn all the lights out so he was just lit by candles. He brought the song from nothing to such a deafening climax the walls were shaking. Then he ran to the back of the stage and pulled out some wires and everything went silent and he stepped in front of the speakers and performed the end of Hallelujah. It was the best gig moment ever. The song itself is stunning. 2. Eskimo Its the oprah singer that does it for me. Sweeps me away everytime. 3. Lonely Soldier When he did this at the london BBC thing it was perfect. Perfect song.

Wow, great question. Top three...but in random order. 1. Delicate-Totally described a relationship between a girl and me. Really got to me. 2. Blower's Daughter-Come on. Have you heard the song. Enough said. 3. I Remember-Lisa, then Damien, then him going off. The song dominates. The flow and transition make it such a standout.

ONE cannonball! its the song that introduced me to damo and its the
song that i associate with a nice, so i thought, relationship at the time TWO blowers daughter part 2! god damn! what a song! every time he hits the "iiiiiii" part, i just shiver up and down THREE tongue! great song for emotional contrast. it gets me goin whenever he stops the voice distortion from the verse and sings the chorus acoustically, and beautifully

Famous Blue Raincoat: Technically it's not Damos' song but I still love the way he performs it as on the recording I recieved at EskimoFriend's Bday. I also love playing and singing it myself. I Remember: The song itself is so beautiful and two-toned. The two sides of a relationship are expressed so beautifully. I remember was also the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar. Cannonball: Of course the lyrics amazing, but I find myself to be constantly playing it. |

Usual no particular order provisio:
Amie - The orchestral bit at the end always send shivers down my spine plus it's the name of a girl who almost was the girl (sad i know )... I Remember - "Want you here tonight, want you here, cos i can't believe what i've found..." Lisa breaks your heart then Damien fills you up with rage. The Blowers Daughter - Just because.

1. Delicate - something about the first verse is just tantalising! It's like a very private moment shared... 2. The Professor - o GOD i love that song - and live it just struck a very raw note with me..."what makes the animal run, run away" - sublime! 3. I Remember - Every time I've tried to write a song after the bitterness of a breakup has just faded, I've wanted it to sound like Lisa's bit. But there's always BD and Cheers Darlin' and Lonelily and Cold Water....*reaches for O yet again*

It would change depending upon the month (used to be week when 'O' was not two year's old!!!) Right now I am starved of new material so am really into some of the non-O tunes, I just love the live songs when Tomo et al kick in after Damo has built up the momentum to a goosebump raising pitch of emotion and sound: 1. Insane - This is also my fave cover to play live right now, I love it!!! 2. Me, My Yoke and I - Talk about builder. 3. The Professor - Awesome building dynamic and lyrical genious to boot!!!

1) Half broken moon - No-one talks about this baby, but I heard it at the infamous union chapel gig, and it was truly awesome. I WANNA HEAR IT AGAIN!
2) 9 Crimes - so honest, open, painful, but true 3) Insane - great energy All other tracks are awesome, but Damo is long overdue some new material! |

Mmmmmm let me try and think hmmmmmmm Not in a particualr order Delicate - its beauty has always just leapt out at me , when i saw it live it did bring me to tears and plus it sounds like he says my name he he deli-kate sorry im sad lol. I remember/cold water- when i sing this on stage i go to this undescribable place and my emotions are heightened and brought to the surface and it feels like i have been there and lived it and have known it, alot of the time when i have finished i am close to tears. Cannonball- i love the simplicity of it a vocal and a guitar, it is just soo beautiful.

I just love the songs which only require a guitar to be complete so: 1) Cannonball (live versions on the official website or the Letterman show on this website) 2) Delicate (can relate to the lyrics soo much) 3) Older chests

i can't say which 3 songs, but just some thoughts in my mind right now. Cannoball gives out pure happy vibes when it starts, if you don't mind too much about the lyrics, it is a simple happy song. i will never forget one certain moment i played it, where i could only hear music and some vague words. Volcano is playfully beautiful, i love the cello part, i almost disagree with Damo for making those two songs so complicated in the lyrics. the weeping cello hidden in Delicate is just so painful, but i don't quite get "why you ...if it means..." part, it seems a typical Damo thing. I don't mind at all Older Chests being plain and less emotional, it's just a meaningful song with simple sound. over all i love every song in O, sorry i can't keep on the topic.
