I have very very long strong fingers, but very very small hands, I've only practised one night...this is going to be a bitch...but so worth it. It's so beautiful and shiny...and beatiful. So I can't have an Irish boy, but let me tell you my guitar is damn good in the meantime

im not sure how good this is for you but i dip my fingers in methylated spirts, for a while, it seemes to kill the skin there or something, well i do it from time to time then u can play extra loads cause your fingers don't hurt. i understand about the pain thou, especially when u play after coming out of the shower. one of my non-musical friends once screamed "it's like razor blades" when she tried to play a guitar poor girly

i remember when i was learning, the first song i learned was the frames "santa maria" but i soon forgot that
the first song i properly learned was radiohead's "street spirit" and god i remember the pain of that! i never bled though..i remember playing "i remember" and during the heavy bit i really fecked up the nail of my right thumb...ahh how proud i was!

oooh i remember the pain well also. im like no one ever told me it hurt to play guitar. now i have calluses on my left hand fingertips. yeah at first it was weird after having a shower all the extra skin that had grown to compensate on my fingertips would sorta peel off. not painful just strange. first song i learnt was "every little thing" by a band called delirious. any one heard any of their stuff? x
