The insanely objective Raiscale™ of popular music excitingness

poor Shakira... I'm sure that if you watch the new Shakira (Gypsy) and watch her moving her ass, she'll move up in that list from annoying to at least tolerable

'Tis true, Shakira was never annoying (in the way, say, Beyonce is).
James Blunt should not be allowed to represent even the lowest rating. The Black Eyed Peas are the new Fugees.

and who's at#2, the real Paul McCartney or his replacement Faul McCartney Been reading all these stories about how the real Paul MacCartney died in the 60s and was replaced by this look-alike who of course cannot sing/write songs

And at least the Fugees had a semi-sane Lauryn Hill, and Wyclef. The other one sucked though. |

I used to like her, she was a good writer and musician. That is until she decided to go blond and stop making good music. Shakira gets a James blunt rating from me.

How about we put the Hannah Montana pip-squeak at #1, Lady Gaga at #2, and Coldplay for the "Zzzzzzz" category?
Yeah...whatever became of Lauryn Hill? Aside from marrying Bob Marley's offspring and giving birth to a litter of little Marleys.

Nonono! Firstly, this is about music and not shapely female posteriors so no matter what Shakira shakes in her videos she stays annoying unless she starts making not annoying music.
Secondly, just because the stages are named after their most emblematic members, it doesn't mean that they can't contain other people. Hazey's placement of Hannah Montana and Lady Gaga were spot-on. And thirdly, the Black Eyed Peas cannot be compared to Fugees. They would need at least one song that is not horrendous to get near category 2. Even McCartney wrote one great song and very few more OK ones.

I think Miley Cyrus/Hanna Montana should be category #0, even below James Blunt... same for all those annoying rappers that mostly sample all classics and rap over the song, ruining it in the process, all this Lil Wayne ft 50 Cent ft Enmienm ft Lil Jon it's a #0
and Black Eyed Peas are another #0 to me Anyone writing lyrics like 'I miss you like a child misses his blanket' gets a zero

lady gaga actually came up when I had lunch last week with David Ford...........he actually defended her as a musician and feels she is a real talent...........he did state though that she choses to use her talents in an "evil" way..............

^I actually agree with that. I think she has some talent, I mean, she writes her own songs, she plays piano, etc... you cannot say the same about most of people in the singing bizness... but yep, she uses her talent in a evil way to say the least...

There *should* be a category #0. Quote:
This topic is getting Gaga-fied, though. The main problem with Gaga is that despite her gimmicky conduct she actually takes herself seriously. Did anyone catch that interview she gave on Jonathan Ross? She said something about "what I do is so different". There's nothing different about what you do, Lady. Ziggy Stardust was prancing around when Gaga's parents were in kindergarden. The clown tradition is an old one.

Lady Gaga got her name from the Queen song Radio Gaga. Where does that put Freddie M?
Just throwing the question out there.

^That's a Roger Taylor song, and the title came from his few months' old son.
