Yes, it was recorded and if what I read on another post is correct, there could be 2 recordings of it.

Ok. I recorded the Temple Bar show last Thursday. At the moment it's still on my DAT. It was recorded using a Sony PCM-M1 DAT and Core Sound Binaural Microphones from about3 rows back slightly to the right of centre. It will be the weekend before I get a chance to transfer it to CDR. I'm willing to do 3 B&P's or trades of this show when I have it transferred to CDR. The first 3 to reply to this post will get a copy. Please do not send me any PM's - just post a reply to this post. I am very busy at work at the moment and probably will be for the next month so I'm afraidI can onlydo 3 B&P's or trades (this does not mean 3 B&P's and 3 trades). However I willentertain a trade for a copy of the Austin City Limits DVD even if it's after the other 3 copies are taken. If you are successful in getting a copy from me please offer it back to the board or put it on a lossless server for download. Thanks, Anthony. |

B&P - blanks and postage. This is where you send blank CD's and a addressed, stamped envelope to someone that has agreed to burn a certain show for you.Remember that the person is doing you a favour by doing a B&P for you, so make it as easy as possible for them (i.e make sure you send a brand of discs that they can use, enclose a note reminding them of the show they are burning and be patient.) |

Ok, we certainly have two of the three copies taken - jayavo and yankphin21. If Colbarr wants a copy could he please post a reply to this thread before 12pm Tuesday (Irish time). If Colbarr doesn't reply before then, then the third copy is still up for grabs. |

What he said! sistermidnight at mchsi dot com But Anthony I do have a copy of the Austin City Limits show... just not sure if it's great quality. Recorded on VCR then had it transferred to DVD, just not sure how to burn it again since I discovered I don't have a DVD burner. But email me if you're interested and I could try to figure out a way... |

I don't understand how this trade thing works. Is it much faster downloading directly off another persons computer than it is to take a concert off, say damienricetrading.tk?

When they say 'trade', they mean actually burning a CD an posting it to someone else in exchange for a different CD posted in the opposite direction.
damienricetrading.tk and the like just speed up the process by 'seeding' the show to more people who will go on to trade it with others. That said, you can on rare occasions 'trade' digitally, where one person sets up a server on their computer, and the other downloads one show from it, while uploading another. But in most cases where you hear people talking about trading, it involves the exchange of long lists of shows via email and good old-fashioned bubblewrap-padded envelopes in the post.

Surely it's faster even downloading off damienricetrading.tk than it is to wait possibly 2 weeks for a postal delivery?! Is digital trading off a private server any faster?

It's faster to get it off the site but a lot of people don't have broadband and these shows are encoded in a lossless format so a show can be a couple of hundred meg's.
