I haven't tried those Trinity systems, so I wouldn't know. What I know is that when I wanted a way tocapture the sound of the Big Baby I didn't want to spend too much money since it is just a spare guitar. Since I already had a Fishman preamp lying around I figured it would be a better solution to buy a fairly inexpensiveokay sounding passive transducer instead of an expensive active one (or crappy sounding cheap one). I haven't actually tested the iBeam system properly, so Idon't feel I can make any comments on it. To me they all sound kind of okay I guess, some are better than others,but none of the ones I have tried have a mindblowing sound or anything. I wish condensers weremore feedback resistant...

i stuck a £75 fishman neo something or other in my big baby its a passive but still sounds pretty cool!

You can get a nice martin or Gibson in your price range on Ebay. I'd say that's the best place for you to buy.
