My little good luck wish for Damien and his new album!

Sorry if this isn't the place to post this, I'm not trying to impose my own work or of course imply that it's better or even worth reading in comparison to Damien's. He's been a very influential musician though, and in my writing topics of inspiration tend to come up! I felt it may be nice to share it with other fans, so here ya go ^_^

a man with
elaborate darkness
and for all it is worth
the brightest light
when it does shine through
in you, in me
in ten things true

and sometimes it seems
as though we're enemies
but the cello reminds me we're friends
in this mental abstraction
of facts and fractions
like the esoteric pretenses of
our beautiful universe
that we try so hard
to make (un)known

and sometimes he screams at me
"**** you! **** you!"
and I am like so many
comforted by the little change
in the last stanza
where rage turns into love
at least for a single
precious
instant

and I'm sure i'm not the only musician
poet
writer
artist
or any other
medium with which to share our world
our changing realities

that has him up in this sometimes
also elaborate, but sometimes also twisted
minds

and I could hold many things to him
for he has brought me all of
great joy and great fear, great sorrow
but we all forgive one another eventually
and hope that platonic is possible
and that the mood
will be peaceful
full of love
and the compassion
we artisans wear like heavy crowns

but I know these words
are not enough to thank
the recipient of them
for procuring and propagating
so much beauty
into the world
so far
so far
one brightly shining, glowing star



Good luck with your new record goes out to Damien Rice, where ever he is! I know this isn't much but I tried to encompass the emotion that this musician has brought to me but I tried. Wishes of well to all!
