wiskey barrel effect i just thought it sonded like that cause in mainly all of his songs he uses a capo which gives the strings a twaggy and sharp...........whiskey barrel effect has got me thinking now though is it the guitar or the tool u use ???

Rice owns and plays only one acoustic, a late-Seventies Irish-made Lowden, which he speaks of in glowing terms. "I just stumbled upon it one day," he says. When I play live and break a string, I just sit there and talk to the audience while fixing it. People ask, 'Why don't you go get yourself a spare guitar?' The answer," explains Rice, "is that I kind of have a love affair with this one."

The "whiskey barrel guitars" were guitarswhere thetone woods were material from old whiskey barrels. Mainly because of the appearance and finish.

Yes, you are right about that. I guess some of them might be of Damien playng guitars that he had borrowed. Damien's main acoustic guitar ishis Lowden. His main electric is a Fender Telecaster.

Here are somepictures of Damien playing a Telecaster. I believe he uses it for a couple of the "new" more electric songs. I cannot remember which ones right now... He used it the last time I saw him play live just about one month ago..

Oh. I cannot remember which songs it was. Lisa plays the Telecaster on The Blower's Daughter. I think Damien might used the Telecaster for Tongue...
