Default What do you think of the Damien/Tori Amos duet

You know, The Power of Orange Knickers from Tori Amos 2005 CD The Beekeeper??

For me, Damien & Tori doing this song together was like a dream come true, the biggest coincidence ever. I've been Tori's numer one fan since 1991, got all her CDs, singles, promos, live CDs, everything.... Then around 2003 I really went into Damien Rice. O is my all time fav CD, It's probably the CD I have listened to the most in my whole life... And then when they announced a duet between Damien and Tori, I almost died!!!

I love it, musically and lyrically. Their voices match sooooooo well... And the lyrics are genious 'The power of orange knickers under my pettycoat'...'Who is the terrorist'...'Am I alone in this kiss'...

I absolutely loooove it but maybe i'm biased since i'm the biggest Tori Amos fan in the world The song got really mixed reviews in the Tori Amos comunity, most people hated it and didn;t care much about Damien's voice, many prefered the solo version she did live on tour.

So I was curious to know what you guys think??????

I gave it a few listens when it was released, but haven't since then. So it's not on my favourite list.

of course I meant to say Tour.. not your.
yikes..

I just wanted to add that I feel an intense sexual energy between the two of them , perhaps a little understated but yea.... is it just me?

I Personally love the song. So much so that I have a habit of speaking the words: "The Power of Orange Knickers...... Under my petticoat, is!" or texting it to my friends and it's quite fun because they have no idea what I'm talking about!

I agree though that many others don't like it because they felt Damien sounded as if he were putting no effort into it, and I can definitely agree that with the power in both of their voices, it could have been more powerful. But i think it turned out beautifully

Did you know that they performed the song together live... once!!! It was on Tori's last tour, Original Sinsuality tour, in the 2nd show in Dublin... in the tiny tiny venue which I have forgotten the name...

So when Tori came back on stage for the encores she arrived with Damien by the hand!!! and he sat in a stool an did his part with his eyes closed, while T was on the piano. Tori mentioned that he was very nervous...

Being the unluckiest person on earth, I attended the first show but not the second... so I missed it...

i love it too

i was at the second dublin show, and got to see it live... it was good, but you could tell that damien was nervous. i'd be interested to see if any of us could convince him to do it on his own during his tour...

I think that it is quite lovely and I really like Damien's vocals in it.

I can't bear myself to listen to Tori Amos anymore. I've had to get rid of all my Tori stuff because listening to her just makes me want to cry because of who introduced me to her. I wish I could hear this, but I just can't.

Aaww!

I hope in time the wounds this person inflicted or left behind will heal, so you can be able to listen to tori again.
