damien in burma....my experience!!
last summer, i had the fortune to travel to asia with a humanitarian group.....and we went to the part of thailand (mae sot) that damien goes to!! i was so excited about this, and i just loved seeing the sites he saw (i visited the mae tao clinic as well) so imagine my surprise when i walked into an art gallery and saw this in the guestbook....
i dont know if you can read that text, but it's the second name from the top....DAMIEN RICE, july ninth, 2004. Ani Difranco signed it as well. it was amazing seeing the name of my all time favourite musician that i am CRAZY about in a far off corner of the world. a photo of the shop sign. it was an amazing experience, and an amazing coicidence. unfortunately, my camera was acting odd so i didn't get a great non-blurry picture of it, but i hope you can read that.....cheers!

I've been to Burma several times.
I lived in Thailand for 4 years, so I did extensive work.

(Emmet edited it because some email addresses were visible, which could be a privacy infringement. Thank Emmet!!)
Audity, where did you live in Thailand? I actually have never travelled to Burma itself, I've visited the border in Mae Sot twice now, but never crossed it because of visas and paperwork. I have travelled around Thailand a bit, though.

I love Thailand and Burma...the people haven't been destroyed by Western capitalism and selfishness.
