Greetings from New York City. I have been a fan of Damien's for going on 5 years now. I first saw him play as the opening act for Luka Bloom at the Roisin Dobh in Galway in the summer of 1999. I was completely blown away by his performance and struck up a conversation with him after the gig. I was trying to convince him to come over and check out the thriving singer/songwriter scene in New York, but he had other plans in mind. He sent me a tape from his time in Europe, which was the only recording I had of his music until "O" came out, and luckly, with my myriad Irish connections, I was able to get a copy of it long before it became available in the states. It was another 3 1/2 years before I got to see him live again, this past March in Joe's Pub, and it was well worth waiting for. I've seen him 3 more times since, and the stage show that he puts on is truly amazing. I work for Sirius Satellite Radio, a new nationwide satellite radio network that has 60 totally commercial free stations of music that span the entire musical spectrum. Our "Organic Rock" channel features Damien quite heavily, playing both "Blower's Daughter" and "Volcano" on a regular basis. I have a daughter who is now 3 1/2 years old, who was actually concieved the same week as my first experience with Damien's music, and she is now an avid fan as well. I took her with me to see him at the Southstreet Seaport, and she ended up playing with Lisa and Damien's manager Ben before the show and now is totally taken with Lisa. She recoginzes their voices on the radio, and every time we get in the car she wants to hear "O". I'm probably older than the average person on this forum, having just turned 45 in August, but am no less active or avid. I'll spread the word about Damien to any who will listen, and am glad that there's a forum where everyone can share how his amazing music has affected our lives. All the best, Alice Farrell

Marina, as if it's possible to be gigged out...........although I guess old age is starting to play a major role, you know stairs are a killer, when you hit 21, but sure you'll experience the age yourself next week I'm rain dancing my little heart off, so I hope tis working
