howdy,

Im new to these forums,

Anyways just thought i'd let you in on something, most people probably know butmy brotherwas told by Glen Hansard himself,

You know the Frames song "fake", well that was written about Damien Rice "stealing" lisa hannigan from Glen Hansard. [As every1 knows they went out b4 Damien n lisa got togeter]...

Ye shud listen to the song, quiet good imo..

Anyways, just thought id share that with the fans

It's just a funny rumour. Do a search for it and you'll find a few more theories. Apparently Glen doesn't mind ruining his career, reputation, and friends and has openly told the relations of countless people at this stage.

Wow you guy's are very efficient I am impressed. Well I listned to the song.. Have no comment... I adore Damien and would alway's take his side, him a fake I highly doubt it... I think him and Lisa are divine together... I hope it is true.. Glen needs to move on... Thanks for the help, cheers

I have seen him 4 times im travelling to belgium to see him man..

Well, I just believe it's a rumour in the same way I don't believe everything I hear as fact. Even if my own brother told me I wouldn't take it 100%.

Just think about it this way. So far there have been numourous people claiming Glen personally told 'name here' that it's about Damien. That would be suicide to do such a thing. Discounting all the others, even to tell your brother would be studpid. At least give Glen some credit in the intelligence stakes.

Anyway, this debate will go on and I can see this rumour constantly being brought back up in the future, so I think I'll just leave my bit at that.

cartman and tania-thanks for posting a link to the lyrics. i thought i was only gonna read the lyrics and end it at that, but i got sucked in by all the gossip from aprevious thread on here....boy, i sure am glad i'm not famous. relationships(whether they be romantic or not) are hard enough as it is! we have to rememberthat they are only people...granted, he's an incredibly talented person. in music, we do kinda feel like we get to know musicians through their songs, so it's easy for us to get sucked in and want to know more. i'm that way. but i definitely appreciate damien's honesty...in his music, interviews, or at shows. he reveals a lot more than i would be willing to, so i say we pry no more. wow, i've gotten carried away...ramble ramble. by the way, i'm new to the site...i think it's a lovely site, emmett...great job!!

yeah sure at witnness glen said it was about some guy you turned up with a more impressive tent and managed to score with the girl he was chatting! fair enough it was a joke but i think the point is it doesnt matter who it was or wasnt about, that doesnt affect the song. I wouldnt take one side over the other either waywe all know people who are fake its nice now that we have a song to sing about them! cause its a really good song

hello. quite new, just registered. i find this 'rumor' as everyone is being very polite are calling it highly intriguing.

it would be nice if lisa and damo 'are' together, they already make such beautiful music together, going the whole nine yard wouldn't upset anyone. but eh, that's just me.

did some investigation with the frames' 'fake'. there's this one line that is almost like an answer (or something else..can't find the exact word)to damien rice's 'cheers darling' song.

damien's went like this: i should've kiss you while we were running in the rain

the frames: something 'he left you crying in the rain'

uncanny isn't it?

I admit this gossip is all very intriguing and hard to resist, but ultimately it doesn't really matter whether the song is about Damien or not does it? I mean I'd like to know too! but Lisa is a grown woman and she can decide who she wants to be with and who she doesn't regardless of whether another person thinks that is the "right" decision or not...sorry if I sound jaded...but I've been there! aargh. Anywayz, I like Damo and Lisa together better *heehee* (although I'm biased cuz I don't really know anything about the frames and all).

Wouldn't it be a bad thing if Damo and Lisa were a couple? I think so, because being famous and relationships don't really mix i reckon, so before you know it they split as real life goes, and Damo start recording his third record with some tatty blonde who can't really sing, but he really loves her and all, and then he's really happy, andhis songs won't really be tormented anymore, and i'm not even going near Ike & Tina!
