We got adds now
They were needed to keep the site up economically i recon?
Is there some sort of system - like, if we click x times on the ads/day, emmett gets x amount of cash? Wouldn't mind doing a bit of clicking to maintain the old 'gloo, even though adds annoy me somewhat..

i get them if i scroll down to the bottom of the page, and there's an 'adds by google' link under the title of this thread.
right now i get some sort of hurricane relief charity link, but before that I got a rice sales online link Cause you know, we're a rice crazed community. Eat it ALL the time.

hey guys
i was just gonna post, but i saw you had started this thread already. i'm just trying out these google powered ads to see if they do help to provide finance for the site, but i'm a bit sceptical... it's just an experiment for now, we'll see how it goes. i'll definitely try to keep them as unobtrusive as possible. as far as i know the ads have some kind of brain that learns as time goes by... so they should become more appropriate to the content of the site, and be of more interested for you to click on. |

I doubt there's ever been a situation where anyone on this site has implied that you're insane Wheels. I also don't have ads, I use adblock for firefox, it's really simple and you can pretty much erase 99% of internet advertisement from your browser, that includes google's ads, they thought they were being smart by making them text only. But they're not very smart... well apart from creating one of the most valued services in the world that is.

the only thing that bothers me is that the one spells "damien" with an "a" rather than an "e"

ow, and the ads are different to people in different locations. so some people will have more relevant ads than others. Last edited by soda; 11-25-2006 at 09:14 AM. |

Thanks Marc, I forgot you work with Google! I'd really appreciate your advice, as I'm new to it all and just experimenting really. I'll send you a PM in a couple of days if you don't mind.
thanks again |

If the Google ads thing doesn't work out, I hear organised crime is quite lucrative...
