Last Sunday I went to see Ben Christophers at Paradiso, Amsterdam and it was totally and utterly AMAZING!!! I never expected it to be this good!
It was just Ben and his laptop. He started out acoustically and boy... is he gay or what! Not that it matters of course! The acoustic songs were great but it went beyond great when Ben switched to his electrical guitar. He played some songs from his first album, among which my absolute favourite (since this Sunday) Before The Winter Parade. It was truly breathtaking! He's got one of the best falsetto voices I've ever had the pleasure of listening to! The encore was pretty awesome as well, with two more of my favourites from MBD... Sunday and of course My Beautiful Demon. Gorgeous!!! For me there's 4 signs of a great gig: 1) You're all sweaty, tired and your legs hurt like hell.. 2) Teary eyes 3) The feeling you want the gig never to end 4) An audience that is quiet as a mouse 3 out of 4 applied this Sunday!

Rub it in why don't you! I've already had Marloes telling me I missed a great gig. Glad you were both able to go and enjoy it though! Edited by: sezmo

I absolutely totally utterly completely agree with Mojo!!!!!!!!!! It really took my breath away at times and I fell in love with his music all over again. This could very well be my gig of the year!!!
and it totally made up for the disappointing gig I went to on thursday, Mark Lanegan. That was the gig I was looking forward to the most, but it sucked!!! |

I don't know anybody who went but you two. 9-12 Dutch time I'm still sleeping. Does it stream live on the web? If so, can someone record it, maybe?

I was just reading Kink Fm's site. Apparently they have a morning and a night edition of "2 meter sessies" and Ben is on in the evening between 22-23 (dutch time) So that might be better for you Angela
