I'm so not happy about the fact that "Lord of the Rings" got so many awards... On the other hand, I had been warned by my personal clairvoyant "Lost in Translation" should have got the best film award! I'm glad about Sean Penn though... I didn't watch the ceremony, did he make a speech?

although i liked lost in translation...well lord of the rings wasn't enough honored in my opinion the last years. that huge team took so much effort in these films, that i'm happy about the best film award. concerning the best actor....i wasn't able to decide, for which person i should hope. for bill murray or sean penn. i love both and they have my respect for their incredible work. sean penn said some words yes. he seemed to be pretty confused, didn't know what to say, searched for words...i think it was very lovely and charlize theron won. i didn't see the film, but i hear from every corner that her achievment was stunning. but sorry...why is hollywood refusing to cast in their mind "ugly" people for character roles, but prefer to let beautiful (whatever beautiful means) actresses turning into "ugly" characters and doing things to their body, which aren't healthy? ok, in a way you could say, that this is part of the business, i'm aware of that fact. and it's also brave to do that and all...i don't want to push mrs.theron down here, i respect her, honestly. that are just questions i ask myself. I used to be just like you, Weatherman. I thought the hype was ridiculous and I had never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies, but one day I got sucked in when they came on a cable station and I've been hooked ever since. You really should give them a go.

i have to disagree on the sean penn thing. i would have loved to see bill murray win - i think he deserved it. i can think of a dozen actors who could have played sean penn's role just as well or better than penn, but absolutely no one could have topped bill murray's performance for "lost in translation." poor underappreciated comedic actors.
