Just to be clear, I'm upset that Lisa is off the market... not Glen...

The controversial song Fake, which they've just performed, comes up. It's just a little piece of fiction, it seems. "I made upa story about a rock star guy who steals your girlfriend," explains Hansard. So its not about Damien Rice stealing your girlfriend? "No". Are you still going out with Lisa Hannigan? "Yes".

Don't worry Wheels, the interview was done on Monday, maybe they've split since then are you're back in the running.

Ye, met Glen once, he’s a really a sound guy, also the frames are a great band and the rumour about Fake being about Damien is load of nonsense, Damien and Glen are good mates.

Okay, who is this Glen guy?

(Sorry, I haven't been keeping up with this).

I'm jealous. I'm better looking than that guy.

And he knows the daughter of Mr. Guinness

And he makes people click their fingers.

And Van The Man was grunting at him in his (Van's) very own kitchen.

And he's been recording in f**cking Steve Albini's studio

Sigh. I love the Frames.

I think its 11 years, pretty sure that Glen is 34.

Yeah, good for them, don't really care. Hope they're happy. Given my limited interaction with the pair of them they appear to both be really sound.

By the way did anyone else know that some people on the scene call Glen Obi Wan behind his back.

Having met Glen and Lisa twice each I think its fair to say that Lisa is a godess, and that Glen is an arsehole. Well actually he was incredibly nice, and I love The Frames and up until I read this thread I wanted to be him. Now however it appears my job is to demolish Glen Hansard. I am the angel of death and the time of purification is now....

It seemed pretty obvious since the frames are supporting damo in America, and i saw him going in back stage after the bam benefit night.

True, like I said he seems a nice guy. But it is a bit rich for him to be dispensing pearls of wisdom to other people considering exactly how little success the frames have actually had compared to how much they actually deserve. (And before anyone says that they are one ofthe biggest bands in the country I can only say this: Big Fish, Small Pond)

Glen: "Step one: Get signed to a major label. Get yourself dropped. Step 2: Sign to another and walk out on the deal."

Despite the revisionist history that goes on with the Frames about how great it is that they've constantly done their own thing you have to admit that they have possibly made some poor career choices in the past.

this is news to me anyone looking at the history of The Frames would see that from 1990-2000 they were blighted with mistakes with record companies and producers. With the release of For The Birds in 2001 it was the first time the Frames had control over their own destiny. Glen used the analogy that it was 'like been given the keys to the uncle's ferrari, they could crash it, but they could also pull every chick in the town'

Glen on No Disco, 2001: "For the first time in our history we now get the opportunity to f--k up on our own ground, and equally we get the opportunity to succeed on our own terms."
