Default The professor, French part?

I just wanted to know if anyone knows what the french part of The Professor means? I'm just curious.. :P

La fille danse
Quand elle joue avec moi
Et je pense que je l'aime des fois
Le silence, n'ose pas dis-donc
Quand on est ensemble
Mettre les mots
Sur la petite dodo

i was thinking that maybe we should have an official "translation" sticky, with all the translations of all the non-english things in all damo songs... and then put them in one place that's always at the top. so that we don't carry on getting the same questions asked over and over and over and over

The girl dances (La fille danse)
When she plays with me (Quand elle joue avec moi)
And I think that I love her sometimes (Et je pense que je l'aime desfois)
The silence (Le silence)
"Come on now, don't dare" (N'ose pas, dis-donc)
When we are together (Quand on est ensemble)
Putting words (Mettre les mots)
On the small sleep(Sur la petite dodo)

though I realize that some of this doesn't make sense, my first language is french and I consider myself an anglophone now. I don't actually understand exactly what he's trying to say at the end. Also, I don't know exactly what this song is about and so knowing the meaning of it may help to understand the end.

Exclamation Never doubt Damo's often hidden genius

Did you ever think about the fact that although French is your first language, it isn't Damo's?

Taking English and translating it into en francais is probably the culprit here. A slightly less literal translation would make perfect sense:

He's probably saying I love when she dances and plays with him because no words are necessary to understand each other. It ruins the simplicity and purity of their quiet lying in bed together because they can never adequately express the emotions they share in the way that non-verbal communication can. So he's basically asking her "Please don't break this blissful, peaceful silence".

It fits in perfectly with the theme of "The Professor": a man who has always prized his intellect realizing that where the heart is concerned, no logic (the original greek meaning 'logos' coincidentally being "the word" or "what is spoken") need apply.
