Any chance you can email me mp3s Chrysler? Dime and torrents aren't working on my laptop. I would be forever in your debt.

Is there any way that we can get past this dimeadozen stuff?
It's 2014 and we now have wetransfer and stuff like that. Should we still rely on the seeder/leecher method? |

Thank you so much for the videos and pics and recordings and links, everyone! So, so happy for all those who were there (great review, Simon!). I'm trying to process all of this, it's a little overwhelming (in a good way). Been waiting so long to hear from him and now all this.. I think I'm going to cry..

oh i forgot.
Rootless Tree seemed to have killed my mics, so from there on there were clickers on the recording. I used a declicker filter, but you can still hear it from time to time :/ |

I seem to be torrent impaired for whatever reason on this new comp; if anyone wanted to dropbox/email/something it to me I'd be eternally grateful!

Is there anyone that can download from dimeadozen willing to upload the entire show on wetransfer, copy.com, dropbox, or any other non-torrent thing, so that people that can't do torrents can have this show?
Thanks |

Thank you so much Chrysler! I'm so glad you got a ticket
I'll share a wetransfer link with the ones that can't use torrents, if you're okay with that. (I still have to download it, but dime usually works for me) |

^that would be nice! dime hash´t worked for me in ages cos of the "your sharing ratio is too low" thing but I agree with what Glo said above, would be nice to have some system to share bootlegs, a "cloud" or something, in order to bypass dime

^ ah, but Marti, you know you really should seed, right? I try to keep my leech/seed numbers balanced. Maybe reseed some oldies?
But I agree, a dropbox or something like that would be better. Although dime was super fast today. |

Dropbox
Good morning, my dear Eskimos,
Since months I am following and enjoying the forum shy and secretly on a daily routine. As a little and first contribution I uploaded Chryslers wonderful files as mp3 to Dropbox (I hope to have your permission to do so ) to share with those who need it. Thank you all so much for sharing your thoughts, passion and precious recordings. I appreciate deeply. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/onb673a9l...9IdEb6V7OyS8-a Last edited by Perl Huhn; 05-16-2014 at 08:20 AM. |

But apart from that, I really think torrents are a surpassed way of sharing stuff. They only work until there are seeders and leechers, and it doesn't make any sense because late fans cannot download old bootlegs. Not sure how much time wetransfer keeps files, but we can create an archive with all the wetransfer links for each show, or something similar. anyway, thank you both you Caroline and Perl Huhn for sharing links! And Chrysler of course, for taping and sharing! much appreciated |

I downloaded an old 5gb dvd with no leechers at all. My account got banned, so I made a new one with a 10 minute email. This account is still working for me. But I agree that torrents are outdated and that it isn't the best way to share files. The problem with wetransfer is that files are only available for a week. Dropbox is great, but has a 2 gb limit, if you're using a free account. (and with lossless audio that's not a lot of space) Maybe we could start a google drive for the most recent files? That's 15gb of free space… I'll see what I can do. Is that okay for you Chrysler? Welcome Perl Huhn! Last edited by carrroline; 05-16-2014 at 10:09 AM. |

Caroline, I set up a Copy.com a couple days ago, I'm trying it out and then I'll let you know how it goes. Files are stored forever of course, and it doesn't seem to have any size limit for each file. It gives you 15GB at first, and then 5GB for each person that joins Copy through your referral link. I've been using it for personal files for months now and it's great.
There are lots of people in here so, 5GB each, we would have a lot of space to use. if you want to try it, this is the referral link: https://copy.com?r=oRIhou |

Well the sense of torrents is that people should give and contribute to the system and not just sponge for their needs. I don't see this system outdated yet :P
I also got the MP3 Version ready now (tagged as well), but since it was already converted i guess there's no need for that anymore? Last edited by Chrysler; 05-16-2014 at 11:09 AM. |

The thing is though that it's almost impossible to find and download old recordings this way... But like I said, it's your choice. Thanks again for the recordings! |

I had a very good ratio on Dime for many years and then failed to login to my account for months. I had some issues with my email and as a result all of my info was purged from the system. I contacted the mods who reinstated my account, but I was starting fresh. I don't use Dime that frequently anymore and my ratio is barely above 1.0 now.
As others have said, it's hard to increase your ratio on torrents where there aren't many (or any) leechers. I wish they'd implement a system like other sites where you get credit for the time you are connected / seeding even if no one is leeching from you. |
