hiya, i just wanna point out something to all viewers of this site. ok. you've got paddy casey, martin finke, mundy, the frames, damien rice, mark geary among others. now can anybody find the similarity with all these musicians? they're all making really cool kinda funky pretty undescribably good music and they're all irish! which brings me to ask is ireland producinga whole new world of music (besides your diddley eii trad stuff) all on it's own? maybe i'm just naive and havent seen it before but i think our little country is growing up, oh it's such a special time.... sniff, sniff, whimper, whimper, etc....

LOL no offence but JJ72 can lick my balls... theyre music is terrible and they totally dont deserve to be recognised along with the likes of Glen Hansard,Mundy,Damien rice... they chose to bypass building up a reputation in ireland and went straight off in search of fame with their record label... that might have been the better option but i wouldnt compare them or even say them in the same sentence and yes the irish music scene is great and has been for years

thats a load of crap, i dont understand why people reckon they "sold out" just cos they accepted a record deal, in fact its a crock their first album was killer and there second was almost as good they deserve way more recognition than they get now.

its called an opinion Aidan and im entitled to one... i never insulted their music or there nancy boy image i just said that they shouldnt be compared to hard working irish artists who have built up a reputation on their own accord and not gone straight for all the glory.

Im not really a fan of jj72 or their lead singer marks attitude at the best of times but they have worked hard and still are. Damien rices old band juniper were initially signed to a record company and the frames were signed to a few to the best of my knowledge. So they were in search of "glory" at one stage and still are. They're independant artists now but werent always. They also tour outside of Ireland.Nothin' wrong with that. Irelands a small country and there is no obligation to stay here and tour up and down the country in the same places all the time.

thats all well and good, and who wouldn't want some glory, i think Jewellers point is that theres no comparison to rice frames mundy etc and jj72, i mean id put jj72 in the same league as ash and that kinda stuff, still irish but not in the same league ya know what i mean. quite frankly im kinda sh*te at the guitar and i sing like an animal but i wouldnt pass up a major label record deal and a world tour ,now would I, or would i prefer singin in thenearest sh*t holeevery week, who knows
