Default Ray Lamontagne

There hasn't been a good Ray Lamontagne thread for ages... Just wanted to say that I think he's amazzzzzzzzzing... I hope I get to see him live one day soon... If you don't have his album, then you're really missing out... And his next album sounds like it's going to be even better!

He just release his live at bonnaroo 2005 ep on itunes so check it out. It also comes with one of his newer songs empty He such a great artist and dare i say life changing. Ive seen him live twice once in Boston and in DC. I cant wait to see him again and again and again

He plays acoustic mostly with backing strings. He has a little bit of a country feel to him but dont be alarmed. He has one the most soothing voices you will ever hear even when he is shouting it feels like a whisper.
His album has got to be in everyone's collection and that is not an understatement. Every one who I have made listen to it has now bought it.
My favorite tracks Hannah and Shelter.

i got his One Lonesome Saddle album recently, tis pretty damn good. i was a bit disapointed with trouble, because i had heard so many great live versions of the songs beforehand, where he had developed them more and then when i finally got it, it was taking a step back with them all...

Ray's album is one of those rare one's that you can just it play and enjoy the entire record without skipping through any tracks. Everytime I have his album playing someone asks "who is this?" Great stuff!

I love Ray. His music is the best background noise in the world. I mean that in a good way. I love lounging around my house reading, or baking, or having a conversation with someone while his CD is playing.

He's decent enough, if a little samey. Wouldn't mind checking him out live, though I imagine he won't be back in Dublin for a while.

Ray is A-mazing live!! He comes across as the sensitive, quite soul...but then he starts to sing and it's so powerful... Love this album. Even if you don't think you like it at first, keep listening...it's that kind of album, it'll hit you...

One Lonesome Saddle was a demo album...that wasn't supposed to be released anywhere. I've heard Ray would rather not anyone get a hold of it cos it's his early stuff, just beginning kind of thing. I really like his version of Shelter on it, its different feel than the album version...and there are a couple others that I love that I think would be great new releases but I don't think that would ever happen.
