The other acts that stood out for me were bellx1,paddy casey and the frames of course!I was lucky enough to meet them all as well, but what was with paddy not playing sweet suburban sky?I was disapointed that bellx1 only got half an hour and they didnt play offshore!Their version of tongue is wicked.Fantastic kick ass weekend altogether.Anyone know if Colm Q and the hallucinations have an album?they were brill as well

saw bellx1 also but tounge isnt as good as damos version. damien goes into the whole I HATE LOOOOOOOOSING thing a bit more and its really cool. didnt see paddy casey because i was recommended to go see calexico at the same time and now in glad i did; they were f**king amazing!!! turin brakes were coolo "witnness kicks the sh*t out of glastonbury!!!" we so did!. coldplay were amazing "what a wonder ful world". the frames were predictable as usual finishing with debaser but still good nonetheless.and well david kitt, what can i say it was a lovely surprise to hear he was playing and im really glad i went to see him as he wound down the buzz, made everybody really chilled out and sent us home to our ketchup covered tents with huge smiles thinking of a lovely sleep but instead staying up all night going mad with fifi (i just wanna plug fifi as much as i can fifi) blowing bubbles and bursting couches fixing guitars finding friends and leavind tents behind. wicked weekend!!

I thought "the Frames" where absolutely class! and the smilaon Glen's face!! He was well chuffed with the crowd, and so was i. Im gutted i missed "the Thrills"!!! Dont know what happened to me, head was all over the place. Didnt have a watch and had a program that was driving me crazy. Been hearing great things about their gig and reading that the security had to stop letting people into the tent it was that packed!!! "The Roots" where great, loved the whites stripes dedication! (If anyone nearly stepped on 2 or 3 blokes who where asleep on the ground in the middle of all that crowd at Upstage before 'the Roots', i was the taller one!!! i slept for nearly an hour) Coldplay and David Gray where their predictable selves, great as ever! Turin Brakes where great but i missed Supergrass and Badly Drawn Boy (again head up my own arse!!) but i saw them both at their own gigs before last Xmas so its cool. Never got to check out 'Mundy' either. And would have loved to see "Redneck Manifesto" again this year but whata ya gonna do |

Actually!! Although i had a great time a witnness, i seemed to have missed more than i saw!!. Didnt see 'Gemma Hayes' or 'Kings of Leon' either! Did see 'Paddy Casey' though and like Sionna i was gutted he didnt play sweet suburban sky, especially cos he asked us what we wanted to hear and the whole crowd shots back "sweet suburban sky" all at once, but he wouldnt play it. I was like 'well why ask!!!!!!' Next year im sleeping in the carpark with my tent, cos im too old to be in with the caged animals!! That was like sleepinthe jungle!! Im already planning next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

missed out on bell xi cos some eejit in campsiteA told me that damo would b playin with automata (who the hell are they anyway?) at the same time. I cant believe I fell 4 it, especially since I knew well he was playin T in The Park on sun, but hey alcohol wrecks havoc with the memory! Did anyone else fall 4 that ridiculous rumour? |

Best Acts of the weekend in some sort of order: - The frames, David Gray, The music, The roots, Mark Geary, Paddy Casey, The cardigans, polyphonic spree, Mundy, Damien Rice, The roots and the music were huge suprises for me as i was never really into their stuff before but found myself going absolutely nuts at both their gigs! I spent most of the time at the Upstage cos i liked it the most even tho it was beside the dance sh*te hall and was on tarmac plus paddy casey is a legend cos he remembered my name and glen is slick as f**k! especially when i was calling out "gwannn outspan!!" class weekend but im gonna need alot of help to get over it as every time i hear a song i heard at the weekend i crumble

Born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1973, Mark Geary is one of eight brothers and sisters raised during a time of extreme political and social upheaval, part of the reason there was a mass exodus of young Irishmen in the late '80s and early '90s. Geary, if fact, was one of those emigrants; he arrived in New York in 1992 at the ripe age of 19, and gradually established himself as one of New York's most popular singer/songwriters, with the local press christening Geary the next in a line of honest and personal songwriters who have made a mark on the music industry, including Jeff Buckley and Elliot Smith. To back up the hype, Geary released his eponymous debut recording on Paradigm Records at the outset of 1999. Like Beth Orton before him, Geary spices up traditional folk arrangements and instrumentation with bits of electronica in the open spaces and background of his music

http://www.markgeary.com/html/music.htmlTherer's a video of Adam & Eve somewhere, too, but I can't remember where, sorry. He had his own "Other Vioces" episode and there's a video somewhere of him and Glen playing at LU. I think "It Beats Me" is my favorite |

Oops, yes, UL. You were there? It said "Marky + Gleno" on the blackboard. And Glen played "We Are In This Boat Together", which I'm loving to pieces!

How cool is that! That song has come a long way!
Met Mark and Glen afterwards and Mark said he would play at my debs for a packet of biscuits and all!
Awwww What a sweetheart! I missed him when he played here (he had to cancel the show), so I have yet to see the man live. But I have a few bootlegs and the crowd interaction is just phenomenal. Josh is like that, too! |
