Has anyone seen this on www.amazon.co.uk there is another CD to the DR collection labled The Blower's Daughter/Silent Night

Its release date is the 6th December

we did have a huge debate about this before, and the general conclusion ended up being, if you don't want it don't buy it.

i'm still pretty opposed to the amount of re-re-re-re-releases from drm, but sh*t happens dosen't it?

The amazing Damien Rice releases 'The Blowers Daughter'; everybodys favourite haunting love song from his triple platinum album 'O'. The b side includes an incredible rendition of 'Silent Night', just in time for Christmas, composed and performed by his muse, Lisa Hannigan.

I suppose it could be worse. technially he's just released 3 songs (4 incl. Silent night) from O. just a matter of a number of times.
other bands can be a lot worse...Radiohead,the Bends era, I'm taking to you! although they had new b-sides most of the time, which was nice [img]smileys/smiley1.gif[/img]

but the matter is he is releasing these songs for no reason. they are not singles to be played on the radio. is the cut of the blowers daughter on this single going to be the edit? is there going to be another single with the edit? i dont understand why all this keeps getting released.

Sorry to be an anorak but the artwork is slightly different on the re-released single.. they've made the 'damien rice' font bigger, just like they did when they re-released 'O'. [img]smileys/smiley9.gif[/img] [img]smileys/smiley23.gif[/img] [img]smileys/smiley20.gif[/img]

Has the Blower's Daughter been released anywhere other than Ireland? I bought my copy (the Irish release) from the official site. We're all on here because we're big fans but there are a lot of people who are yet to experience the brilliance that is his music. If this is the first time this song has been released in the UK then don't be surprised, it's not unusual for singles to be released from an album! Hopefully more people will be able to appreciate his talent as a result.

Having said all that, It's been the best part of 3 years, release another album already!

Available as a CD and limited edition 7" coloured vinyl with poster 'The Blowers Daughter' is the lead track from the new Mike Nichols film 'Closer' which stars Julia Roberts and Jude Law, the b-side is an incredible version of 'Silent Night'.
