there are several damien rice shows on sharingthegroove which need seeds so pop on over and help out if you can...

seeds are people who have completed the download and continue to share it. You can do so even if you stop your torrent by starting it again. to become a seed, simply relaunch the torrent, set it to save in the same place, the torrent will check to see how much you have, it will say download succeful and you will be a seed, uploading to others.

I'm also new to this, Cedric-- so if I you click on the link to download the torrent, your window will say Download Successful b/c you've already got it, but you continue to leave the window open so others can upload it from you. How long you should one leave their window open? I've heard maybe 2-3 days?? One suggestion- maybe providing links in a post of where to find the torrents would help. I have a few and would be willing to seed, but thought there was more to it than that? I've very much enjoyed the shows I've downloaded[img]smileys/smiley4.gif[/img] (though some took days! [img]smileys/smiley5.gif[/img])

hey btw - shouldn't the sharingthegroove-sites be in the thread about all the file sharing and trading places? i'd love to post it there, if you just give me the info needed for ppl to get into it there (so far i am clueless myself about this part of the trading scene - hope to get it soon though!)

The best way to know what shows need seeds is to go to the sharingthe groove tracker, the link is below, scroll down to Damo (the shows are listed in alpha order by the name of the torrent, damien torrents tend to be called damo200x-xx-xx, beside the name of the torrent you will find statistical information including the number of leechers (people dl), the number of seeds (people ul) and the number of completed dl. When there are no seeds for a show and you can help out its nice to although you dont have to, the general rule is you give as much as you take so your download ratio should be one or higher when you stop seeding, if everybody did that the torrent would never end but a lot of people leech and run and its often a handfull of people left seeding the show for everyone.
