Some Surprise Chords and Lyrics
Hey, I've posted the chords and lyrics to "Some Surprise" over at ultimate-guitar.com, or at least to the best of my ability. I do have some things I can't work out though:
The second line of Lisa's verse, which I hear as "Throwing shapes and power ploys" probably isn't what she really sings. The chords to the intro and verse seem to begin with a C, then some notes sliding to an F, then back to C again, but I can't figure out how that would be played. I'm assuming all the chords are in the open position for now. Anyone have any help or suggestions? |

ahh so that was you who posted them, eh? I was amazed when I searched for it on ultimate-guitar and found it. Pretty damn good, too.
I only got to mess around with it for a few minutes today on the guitar and the piano. It sounds good and I'm going to look more carefully at the transitions cause they are a little awkward. There are a couple lyrics inconsistencies... 'Your lips come as some surprise', not with. This is throughout the entire song. 'They never taste like the last time', not 'that last time'. You're right about the 'throwing shapes and power ploys' line. Just a little odd. And it's 'That they would want to come and meet mine', not 'If they would want to come and meet mine'. These are really just nitpicky considerations. I was really impressed with the way you tabbed out the song. I'll let you know if I figure out a way to ease the transitions. |

paul noonan, who wrote some surprise, uses it in a couple of other songs, including 'reacharound' on Bell X1's latest album, Flock. |
