I'm already at the point of going into zombie-rage and wreaking destruction all around if I hear any more Christmas music. My work has been playing it for three weeks already...

I just said in another thread I have to hear John and Yoko sing "Happy Christmas, War Is Over" every year... would be nice... esp. this year, huh? Tho I also really love The Pretenders "2000 Miles". I've always thought it was a beaufitul song and it just has that feel of a classic Christmas tune to it. |

Awwwyou too, Jenn! Are you having a traditional dinner this year? My friend was here earlier and they're having chop suey at his mother-in-laws! For Thanskgiving?! He has my sympathy...

Yeah, we always have the full out meal...along with some unfortunate
traditional dishes grandma always contributes. But I can't wait to see my family though. How about you? All I can see is potatoes for days and days, no turkey for me...must save all available space in here for potatoes.

Yeah I'm cooking the traditional meal here at my house. Turkey (mmm), stuffing (mm), candied yams (mmm), pumpkin pie with whipped cream (mmm mmm mmm!) etc. Is the green bean casserole with french fried onions one of those unfortunate trad dishes, cos I'm cooking that too! Have fun with your family on the holiday Jenn! (sorry I'm in a huggy mood) |

I'm always in a huggy mood Sis...no
actually it's much worse than the green bean casserole. It's a traditional Romanian dish called...hmm I've never had to write it out before so I will spell it the way it sounds Galushka...Romanian for blahhhhh-yuck-ew-going-to-die-now-disgusting. Have fun with your family too.

No I don't think I ever heard sweet baby James' version I looove Joni, tho! You have very good musical (classic American folk rock) taste for such a young man from Germany! edit: hey you like Crosby, Stills and Nash, too? They were all in together with Joni and Neil for awhile there. Edited by: SisterMidnight |

^ f**kin' hippie! yeah you really do have great taste in music, cool young german! oh i really hate xmas. not xmas eve itself, which can be an ok night with good food, but OH! how i hate the xmas hype!!! i guess my favourite xmas song would have to be hawksley workman - merry christmas (i love you) cause it's not really about xmas, it's about life and death and love and sadness. and enevn though there's a religious theme in it, and it's a bit sticky xmas'y, i still love that song: If god takes you He leaves a huge footprint of love And kindness behind that was where you once stood I know you're afraid To get on the plane after what happened that day And selfishly I want you here in my way But animals come And animals go Love is just a laundry line we hang on until We're dried out by the sun And when you think your turn is done You end up getting dirty and it's all again begun Now words I think are just A noisy dirty wind Makes the trouble we get in So why do we speak Now we made another war That's what men are good for Men with stupid insecurities And not a lot more And satisfied they tried It's written about again But who the hell reads history Apparently not men I guess nothing's guaranteed Except the politics of need Did the romans see the ship go down Or were they asleep And I shouldn't expect to live And I shouldn't expect to die But I wouldn't mind being beside You dear on that laundry line to dry And for my grandma and my brother My father and my mother And you my sweetest lover To you all I will say Merry Christmas I love you and god is above you Merry Christmas I love you and god is above you Merry Christmas I love you

"christmas time is here" by the velvet guaraldi trio is absolutely classic. actually, anything from the charlie brown christmas special is enough to get me into the spirit. and a few times a year i have to listen to "bizarre christmas incident" by ben folds: "santa, he's a big, fat f**k went down the chimney, got his fat ass stuck. oh honey, call the lawyers fast. mrs. claus is going to sue our ass" those listening invariably come after a work shift filled with listening to the same dozen or so christmas songs piped over the dmx.
