'Horrid' Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress Exibit
A dress glorified as stunningly beautiful a couple of months ago when being worn by a pretty girl now looks indeed creepy and horrible when presented in a huge empty hall with spotlights on a headless mannequin. This is how the queen herself described it.
The irony of her comment and indeed the exhibit itself congers up so many parallels with how a large majority of people feel about the institution of the monarchy itself. The monarachy has perhaps unwittingly committed an own goal. One has to smile for the proletariat. Last edited by Jane Doe; 07-23-2011 at 10:52 PM. |

On deeper reflection perhaps the palace is actually sending a subliminal message after all. The queen does not say anything ad-lib as we know.
But if it wasn't genuine is she saying ....yes the institution is a facade but they are only human beings underneath all the finery? If it was genuine one can quite understand the horror she felt if it genuine. The main criticism by the media of the monarchy is personified by the exhibit. One wonders |

I say, let's get rid of monarchy. As a Dane I am sick of it, and I think it's not fair to anyone - those who pay for it (us), and those who are born into a certain job and position. Where else in this day and age are you born into a particular trade? It gotta stop.
