The review of the Seattle concert described Lisa as gawky. Surely not! That sounds like the opposite of Lisa to me. How dare they? Can anyone who was there testify to the gawkiness or ungawkiness of the lovely Miss Hannigan? Dan |

gawky
\Gawk"y\, a. [Compar. Gawkier; superl. Gawkiest.] Foolish and awkward; clumsy; clownish; as, gawky behavior. -- n. A fellow who is awkward from being overgrown, or from stupidity, a gawk. NO NO THAT'S NOT RIGHT! |

An even bigger sin may have been half dissing the Frames. Whoever wrote that review might not be able to safely visit Ireland. The Frames zombie army might be out to get him/her.

plz don't kill me, but... i can sort of relate to the describtion of Lisa as 'gawky' in the sense of 'awkward' and 'shy'. At least I think she came off as that at the Copenhagen Vega gig. Lovely voice, lovely intensity, definately, but... have any of you noticed how tightly clenched her fists are when she sings? Her knuckles were all white. What's happening in that tiny body when she does that? I have an idea there's a lot she's holding back when she sings, and certainly this is also one of her qualities, that a lot is happening underneath the surface, like. I just look forward to the day when she lets whatever makes her clench those fists so tightly pass her vocal chords instead.Edited by: supercille

Shy and slightly freaked out possibly, but not gawky.... They should give her something to do with her hands though. I always have the impression she's going to mangle her top, belt or earpiece. |

I don't like the use of the word gawky. However I do in a waysee Lisa as a bit childlike and simple-hearted (and perhaps evena bit clumsy).

Simple-hearted? Does that mean that she still wears her flowered underwear?

On the other hand: Damien has said that he cannot understand why people call Lisa an "angel" - "because she most certainly is not"

Maybe she doesn't always be as angelic as she looks. If my cousin's kids can do it at two someone two decades older should have perfected it. |

But seriously: I don't think I have any suggestions to what Damien may have meant by it if he did even mean anything specific at all. She is human and not an angel afterall.... I think.... Edit: Misspelling ofshe as he corrected.Edited by: Magnus
