Hmm... this is awful to hear, but if I may, can I offer a perspective from the other side?
I've known someone fora whileand very soon did get tired of them. It was just a case of, the more I found out, the less I liked.I've nothing against them, but I have too many differences and find objections with most a lot of their opinions and attitudes. This works fine with some other people, but this is so much the case that I just bite my tongue fartoo often and it's frustrating. I don't want to upset this person so I don't confront what they say (as their views are harming nobody else, and I'm not the type just to speak my mind for no benefitial reason). But anyway, we're around eachother every single day and we have the same shared friends. If there were to be a rift between us, the consequences would be disasterous. We are not in positions to go seperate ways then and will still be around eachother. But they definitely have noticed a change in my behaviour towards them. I'm never mean to them as I wouldn't do that, but you could say I'm less enthusiastic for obvious reasons. I put on a brave face most of the time as if everything's rosy. I do not feel able to say this to their face. I think it'd harm them as much as it'd harm me, and things are better for now like this. In time, when we have our own space, obviously they'll find out and the reality will come out. I would love to be able to say it though, but cannot and thought I'd share this side of things. That guy does sound like an ass though. I'd never do a deliberate brush off like that. If you don't get on with someone, there's no need to be mean. I think whatever he thinks of you, you must ask yourself if he's really worth it if he does things like this? |
