not that this is THAT important but is there any romantic involvement there? And how did they get to work together?

wouldn't like to say about the romance, but apparently damo was at a cafe with his sister when he first met lisa... I'd have to be (a) sober and (b) watch the interview again to carry on from here

I heard that they used to be together, but broke up a few months ago. Might be a rumor, but who knows. It does seem like a likely relationship. I mean, there pouring their souls out together, sharing emotions and stuff so i wouldn't be surprised if they are or were a couple. |

Wouldn't it be great?
I mean, I can already imagine the lovely (and talented) babies they could have...

This is generally the one topic that is skirted around/avoided/frowned on here. At least it has been of late.
No offense guys but its no ones business but their own, can't they just have some privacy. More importantly if they aren't together and were in fact seeing other people it would be real nice for them to see all this speculation wouldn't it? On the topic of the professional relationship Smithy's post is pretty much how Damien has told the story, I read a small varient on it in an interview Lisa did.

i dont like to read so far into musicians minds... let them live a life... if he is/was involved with lisa then it can only take away from their professional outlook and we wouldnt want them to split or fall out over a relationship...

Thank you Ian for that post. It really isn't anyone's business. I don't understand why people care so much about it. If they wantedus to know, they'd tell us about it. |

I do believe that Damien is much older than Lisa and in more than one of hsi shows he's referred to Lisa having a boyfriend. I believe he once dedicated "Woman Like a Man" to Lisa and her new interest.

Argh I hate it when people start being all UBERPC holier than thou. I said it wasnt that important, but it is interesting, and yes even for you, admit it, because these are very emotional songs about love amonst other things. So it would be interesting if they would be singing it to each other. I'm not trying to take pictures from their bushes here. And how old IS Damien? And Lisa? I thought Damien was kinda young.

Damien is 33 now (correct me if I am wrong) and Lisa is 22...
He just had his birthday, and most of us got to send him a little message!

Ok so big difference there! Wow he looks younger and she seems older! So how long have they been working together and how did it start?

Damien said in an interview this week that he's 30.
Just because something might be interesting it doesn't mean we have a right to know it, thats all I'm saying. And no, I don't care whether they are together or not. Two people I know really well got together recently and I don't really care, why should I be bothered about 2 people I barely have a connection to. Once again, no offense intended. If they made public comments about it then it would be fair game, but they don't so I don't think it is.

Well if you don't care abot your close friends being together, I guess you just dont care much for either people or relationships. That's fine with me. I'm not going to stalk damien or lisa, I'm just interested in their lyrics and this would be a less important yet interesting part of it. For example where he sings: "She's still too young."

Jesus bro, there's no need to get nasty and/or use you're amazing psychoanalytical skills to try to bring me down, I said my piece, it's not like I made some vicious personal attack on you.
I meant that "why should I care" comment about D+L. I don't really see any reason why I should care about my friends being together either, they used to hang out a lot, they still do except now I presume that they are doing "other stuff" in addition to the hanging out. Things are the way they've always been regarding the both of them and me. But you're right, I don't care much for people, I'm happier on my own most of the time. Surprise surprise, I'm posting this on a message board. On to the "she's still too young" thing. Volcano dates back to when Damien was in a band called Juniper, his former band mates went on to form a band called Bell X1 and also recorded a version of it on their debut album. The song was probably written in the late 90's which is when the band split. Now the earliest Damien and Lisa could have met is I believe 1999 given her age and based on interviews where he talks about meeting her for the first time. Given all that information even if they had/have a relationship which as I've allready said I don't what to speculate on it is likely that the song was written before they had even met. In addition to this the lyric in the Bell X1 version of the song is "she's still too young to bleed" which has a much darker connotation.

thanks for that info, interesting! too young to bleed indeed is darker. Would you recommend trying to get some pre-solo stuff?

Who cares about age differences anyway? Isn't love supposed to be ageless?

The interview was a few weeks ago, so he must have been 29 still! Then on the 7th December he turned 30 and he said so in the interview on TodayFM. (I think)
Here's an explanation, Mulder.
