Hi Karolina,
The lyrics actually come mostly from the great Robert Frost poem "Nothing gold can stay" which also influenced the SE Hinton novel (and subsequent bratpack movie with Swayze, Macchio, Dillon, Cruise etc) "The Outsiders". Then the chorus goes something like: "The messenger boy is panting He's run all the way There's been a pile up on the information highway The truth recovered from the wreckage gives me The truth recovered from the wreckage gives me Deliverance" The poem (and song verses) goes: Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. Back in the Juniper days that would have been considered a "Paul song" rather than a "Damien song". Hope that's of help. JL |
