MTV.com Damien Bio.
Hey everyone, just found this on MTV.com's Damien Rice page for the Live Earth gig. All in all, they end up calling him a super-emo kid...this is so stupid. And for those of you who don't know what "emo" is, it's the latest fad in the U.S. in which everyday boys and girls choose to wear pounds of make-up, dress in all black, and boys make out with boys all in the name of "music." They're retarded, and "emo" is actually short for "emotion." Really really stupid and there's no way Damien fits in this category.
Live Earth Artist: Damien Rice Performing at the UK concert The Irish itinerant songwriter has released some of the most intensely personal music of the last few years and won the 2003 Shortlist Prize for Artistic Achievement for his first album, "O." The single-digit alphanumeric madness comes to a head with Rice's latest, almost painfully halting collection, "9." It's an unblinking, somewhat catatonic, but endearingly manic trip through the ups, downs and sideways of a fierce rock poet who out-emos your favorite emo kid. and then there's... You judge for yourself. This is apparently the new goth, but I'm sure Robert Smith would laugh at such an idea. Last edited by Valentino; 07-07-2007 at 10:06 PM. |

A coupoe of my friends who had barely heard damien before went with me to his concert at a festival, and they kept saying that he was way more emo than most bands they'd heard... I see their point.. but no!

To be fair, it doesn't actually "end up calling him a super-emo kid", they pretty much correctly state he's "a fierce rock poet who out-emos your favorite emo kid." - which judging from your definition of Emo means he's far more genuinely emotional than these emo "retards" as you not very politely put it. (you'd be kicked out of Big Brother for such terms!)
"A fierce rock poet" is very different from calling him a "super-emo kid". |

By the way if any of you haven't done so already, be sure to watch the movie "Zeitgeist" when you get a chance. It talks about a lot of interesting stuff going on with the politics of our time and you can watch it in it's entirety for free @ www.zeitgeistmovie.com. Spread the word. hahaha... i love emo kids... i love laughing at them... they're very much into being unique yet they all wear the same skin-tight jeans, dirty red plaid button down or black tshirt, chuck taylors, long hair that dangles in at least one eye, studded belt, and star tattoos on the forearms... oh and they're most likely vegan and ride single-speed courier bikes...

i agree with some of the other people. i think they were trying to say that perhaps damo seems like an emo kid but he out-emos even the hardcore emos. i thought it was funny...

^ooohhh *blushing*
Well, I had to go to the dentist's because I woke up the night before with a tooth ache. Going to the dentist was not on my wish list, yikes! But everything was seemingly fixed and I got sushi for dinner so all was good in the end Enough about this here idiot; back to the moo-sic Zoo.
