Yeah, i thought that aswell. He looked like he was gonna go nuts, but had to contain himself. Brilliant set. I love the banter that Dave and Paul have on stage.</font>

Excellent... you don't suppose he got the idea here? Good news anyway, sounds like a great gig!
Probably a single CD with just the non-covers though. They're hardly gonna pay the rights to all the covers if they're trying to raise money. I'm still gonna buy it of course I hope there's an audience recording somewhere though with the full set.

Absolutley amazing gig! It was my girlfriends first time to see what Damo looked like, and when he came out on stage she said "He's a little Ewawk!!". I thought that was hilarious!!

BellX1 stole the show, but it was a very close second between Damo and Lisa.

We were spoiled last night, and i wanna do it again!!</font>
Great - more pix on the way

"Little Ewawk"? Ha, ha! So, what did she think of him? (If she told you )

Well, as you know we are all drooling over what obviously was a one-of-its-kind amazing night.

Hopefully they'll look half-decent! They were taken from further away than Laura or Geoff's shots (i.e. the balcony), and the camera doesnt seem to be as good as Geoffs, but looking at them on the screen the focus seems to be fine. Its hard to tell as the screen is so small. The camera didnt pick up much light, as the power for the flash went half way through. Fingers crossed that when i can put them up on the computer that they look well.</font>

In the past she's seen me get really pissd off cos i've missed out on tickets to see Damo. She's said that he's not "that" good, to get so pissed off about. Think she was just sick of me goin on about him, and the tickets.

So last night, i was expecting her to eat her words a little, especially after seeing Damo play those songs. She thought he/they were great, and was singing along to Volcano, Cold Water. But she said Bell X1 were better. It was her first time to hear them and she was really impressed with them.

And so was i to be honest, and it wasnt my first time seeing them. I cant wait for the next Bellies gig!! I've had both albums playing non stop today.</font>Edited by: daol20

PLus, the gig went on for near 4 hours. Cant see them putting the whole thing on cd.

But all of Lisa's songs were covers, as were most of Vyviennes (before the Beatles cover), so that would be a shame if they were left out. Is there not some sort of exception on royalties/rights on songs for charity?</font>

Hope you're right Daol. Even if they just took a few songs from each act it'd be great. Here's hoping!

Really? I wonder why everybody is so rev'ed up about them. I've never seen them (I don't think they ever toured the US yet). I have both albums (first heard about them when they opened for Tom McRae in France ages ago), but so far they don't do that much for me. But then I hear they are something else live, soo....send them over, alright?

You took Damo, from us!! Your not getting the Bellies!

Just playin. But they're an amazing band to see live. Their albums are great, but once you see them live, the albums become so much better!</font>Edited by: daol20

Ha, ha! I can see your point But, you know, Damien's detractors say there are "hundreds of Damiens" all over the country (yours, that is).

P.S. I'm not convinced the Bellies would translate all that well to the US anyway.

deadly gig. it reminded me a bit of the make trade fair gig a couple of years ago with a couple of the lads from bellx1,damo, mundy, nina hynes and a few others. there was the same quality atmosphere last night. charity gigs in general are cool cos the performers are more relaxed and willing to mess around with the songs a bit more. the acoustic bellx1 songs were the highlight last nite for me and the blowers daughter 2 was quality because he didnt use any distortion mic for the song so you could hear all the lyrics properly towards the end.. gaggin for monday now!

I was speaking to the producer of a radio station yesterday, and was told that (as far as he knows) when the covers are added to a non profit making cd, as in this case, that he doesnt think any payment is needed for each song. Once the permission is given by the record labels and individuals who own the rights.

So hopefully that means that we'll have everything on the cd!

If that's true, then that's fantastic news Though I can't see them releasing a 3cd version. I wonder which songs will be dropped.

Thats hard to call. I dont think they'd cut more of one artists/groups performance than another. I'd imaginethe songs willbe spread evenly between them. I really woundnt know which songs would cut, it'd be a tough decision.
