I've been meaning to ask this for a while but kept forgetting. Does anyone know any kind of story behind this song or know when it's been played other than the April 21st gig in Portland?

Been listening to that gig quite a lot and I love how he goes from 'The professor' to 'Babylon' to 'Child, Man, Silly Dog, and then to 'La Fille Danse'...

I've only got it in SHN and it's not the full song... would be good to get it in full as an MP3 ~Hopes someone has it somewhere ~

He did the "Child, Man, Silly Dog" bridge at the Tower Theater show in Philadelphia and againthe next night at the Beacon in NYC. When I asked him about it in Boston, he said that it was an old song of his and told me the name of the song, which we hadn't known before that I think, but I don't know if there arerecordings of it as a full song. If you can get your hands on the Philly or NYC shows, you can hear it.

I'm not sure how long it's actually supposed to be. The version I've heard is from the Upper Darby, PA show and it takes up about a minute and ten seconds worthin the midst of"The Professor". Rarely has such a brieflittle dittybeen so hauntinglymemorable.I believe him that it's quite oldsince one of the lines in it isalso a lyric in"Volcano".
