Hey everybody! I was dissappointed with the selection of tabs for Amie, so i took a listen and tabbed it myself. I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks! |

sounds pretty ok for me
but i'd say in front of at least the c chord he makes a complete hammer-on and not just the b string 1st fret (c) but thanks it's better than the others i've found till now |

he plays it on the 6th fret though or maybe even the 7th. in the video to the KCRW Live 1-11-02 performance you can see the high capo position and to me it sounds like those chords are on the 7th.

doesnt anybody ever play the way you want it? if i was to listen to amie i'd hear the main chords then i'd pick up my guitar and play it how i remembered it to sound instead of always having to have it absolutely perfect all the time... am i on my own here?

Eh. Haven't seen the video. I think these voicings sound pretty good, at least better than what used to be there. EDIT: Just watched the video (Grrr, you made me download realplayer). Same chords, different positions. I'll see if I can come up with a good tab for the capo 7th fret.

Oars: you did a great job! I posted my tab for Amie last weekend.. I'm not sure if you saw it or not. We have the same chords I think.. just in different positions. Amie transcribed by Catherine Gagné http://www3.sympatico.ca/g403z Capo 7th fret I have several live versions of this song and he does a lot of hammer-ons and changes to the chords. I transcribed what I think sounds best when played on a solo acoustic. Verses e-------------------------------------------------- b---3---3---0---3-----3---3----3---1---0---1---3--- g---0---2---0---0-----0---0----0---0---0---0---0--- d---0---0---0---2-0h2---0----------2---0---2---4--- a---2---x---2---3------------2-----0---2---0---5--- e---3---2---0--------------------------0----------- Chorus e---0--------------------------2----------------- b---0---1---3---0--0h1-0---1---3---1-----1---3--- g---0---0---0---0--0---0---0---4---0---0-0---0--- d---2---2---4---0--0---0---2---4---2---0-2---4--- a---2---3---5---x--x---x---0---2---0---2-3---5--- e---0---3---5---3--3---3-----------------3---5--- Nothing unusual, nothing strange Close to nothing at all The same old scenario, the same old rain And there's no explosions here Then something unusual, something strange Comes from nothing at all I saw a spaceship fly by your window Did you see it disappear? Amie come sit on my wall And read me the story of O And tell it like you still believe That the end of the century Brings a change for you and me Nothing unusual, nothing's changed Just a little older that's all You know when you've found it, There's something I've learned 'Cause you feel it when they take it away Something unusual, something strange Comes from nothing at all But I'm not a miracle And you're not a saint Just another soldier On the road to nowhere Amie come sit on my wall And read me the story of O And tell it like you still believe That the end of the century Brings a change for you and me And Amie come sit on my wall And read me the story of O And tell it like you still believe That the end of the century Brings a change for you and me (Lyrics taken from http://www.freecfm.com/d/damien) |
