Default The most difficult/easiest songs to play?

Which are in your opinion the most difficult and the easiest of Damien's songs to play, considered that I'm a beginner?
What do you suggest me to start with?
Thanks, any help appreciated

lonelily isn't hard if you strum it

F, C, G, C,
F, C, G, G

(the picking isn't that bad anyway )

i'd say cannonball if played absolutely correctly is harder than dogs or baby sister

definately start with coconut skins though, easiest by far.

Blower's Daughter isn't hard either, once you can play bar chords

No, cannonball isn't hard as dogs and baby sister.

Easy songs:
The Animals Were Gone [pretty easy. you just need to practice.]
Coconut Skins [also isn't so hard.]
The Blower's Daughter [easy easy, just practice]
Cold Water [maybe the easyest.]

Just begin with those songs, and with the time try to challenge yourself with others.

Cold Water is definately the easiest in my opinion. Blowers' Daughter can be a little awkward, and takes some practice. On the harder side that would be Cannonball and Dogs. Lonelilly is quite easy... as well as Cross Eyed Bear.

cmon now! baby sister is fiddly at first! but it's not that bad.

Eskimo friend is quite easy.

canonball is annoying i've not succeeded it. But it's not really a particular favourite so leave it be say i.

You don't need barre chords until the key change after the bridge - I always leave the B and top E strings open. Sounds better that way as well

Well, I personally find that if it's played correctly it's much harder than Dogs. Baby sister is harder than dogs, but I find Dogs pretty easy.

I think that Coconut Skins is the easiest to play. I recommend learning Cannonball, though. The song uses basic hammer-ons and slides and once you get those two down fairly well (in conjunction with strumming), you can play a lot of other Damien songs. Good luck!

Thank you all...I may start with coconut then...I actually think that the blower's daughter is not that easy to play, but I'm not the best person to learn? cause probably I'm wrong again

It just slides up from the E, to the A, to the B, like so:

0 -> 0 -> 0
0 -> 0 -> 0
1 -> 6 -> 8
2 -> 7 -> 9
2 -> 7 -> 9
0 -> 5 -> 7

And then the C#m is just sliding up again:

0
0
9
11
11
9

Makes it REALLY easy to play

Oh, and you can stay up for the E at:

0
0
9
9
7
0

Which if you do it like this, enables a little bit of cool hammering on/pulling off on the G string (heh, pulling off G-string - bet no-one's ever made that joke before!):

0 -> 0
0 -> 0
8 -> 9
9 -> 9
7 -> 7
0 -> 0

but you'll have to work out your own rhythms and stuff for that

Hope that all made sense. I'm not really a very good guitar player, so I may have got that all totally wrong...

Cold water is dead easy to play, just whack a capo the 4th and you barely have to move your hand

Well you'd need to move your hand less if you had the capo on the 5th

To play Cannonball properly is more difficult than either Dogs or Baby Sister... and I would have suggested Lonelily as one of the easiest to pick up. But hey what do I know!

Well if you consider there is like 3 or 4 guitar tracks on the studio version, you bet it's hard to play exactly like it with one guitar hehe

Elephant in my opinion.

The hardest to play would be Cannonball and Older Chests, since both of them are a mixture of strumming and picking. There are so many variations and its quite hard to play exactly like him... infact his versions differ from concert to concert when he plays live. So, just make your own ... do what sounds good! Make it yours and play and you will discover the beauty of it.

For me, Older Chests is the easiest. So simple but such a beautiful melody at the same time.

Cannonball played correctly is definitely the most difficult. I can play every Damien song I know accurately (to my knowledge anyway which may well be a bit rusty!!) Except Cannonball. I simply cannot do it, I try and try, but I can't get it. Not the correct way anyhoo.

Ah well, guess I'll keep practicing!

Theres no such thing as a hard Damien song, Cannonball is probs the hardest but its still 1/10 on the hardness scale (To be fair I spent years learning to play Van Halen, Steve Vai etc). I remember posting my version of cannonball on here once and people saying that I play it really well, how nice
