Something along these lines.

Probably because serious colonisation of New Zealand only happened very late, before that, there was a trickle of Europeans that was easily dealt with by the well-organised and warlike Maori (who were very far from the peaceful hunter-gatherers of Australia). They even acquired muskets and rifles, which meant that they had to be taken seriously. When the true colonisation started, they went into the decline, but due to the relatively low numbers of Europeans they quickly gained political status and came back from the decline.

you were not there. you didn't have to suffer. it didn't stay. it was just wet and cold. yuck. but now it's only raining and cold - so the difference is not too big...

Heh, reminds me of last year on Eæectric picnic at the Gemma Hayes set when a girl behind me said 'She's so thin! I HATE her!'

Heh, i try not to be that bitchy. But it IS frustrating when you're a fatty, rather ugly songwriter. I do believe it's easier for the beautiful ones. But then, harder in some other respects I guess. But dang, she does just look like a pretty doll. Even when she tries to mess her looks up. Lucky her!

But, Cille, consider this: Gemma Hayes must be in an absolute horrific situation, probably everybody from the male fan crowd wants to drag her into bed and remember what Damien sung: "Too many options may kill a (wo)man..." If it's any help to you: I'm not a "p*ssy magnet"...

Mr. Boombastic
What you want is some boombastic romantic fantastic lover
Shaggy
Mr. Lover lover, Mr. Lover lover, girl, Mr. Lover lover
She call me Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic, touch me in me back
she say I'm Mr. Ro...mantic
She call me Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic, touch me in me back she say
I'm ro... Smooth just like silk
Soft and coddle hug me up like a quit
I'm a lyrical lover no take me for no filth
With my sexual physique Jah know me well built
Oh me oh my well well can't you tell
I'm just like a turtle crawling out of my shell
Gal you captivate my body put me under a spell
With your cus cus perfume I love your sweet smell
You are the only young girl that can ring my bell
And I can take rejection so you tell me go to hell

I'm Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic touch me in my back she says I'm Mr
Ro...mantic
I'm Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic touch me in my back she says boom
boom

I'm Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic touch me in my back she says I'm Mr
Ro...mantic
I'm Mr. Boombastic say me fantastic touch me in my back she says boom

Let me take you to an island of the sweet cool breeze
You don't fell like drive baby hand me the keys

i don't know if any of you heard anything about the student protests in vienna. it just seems that the government trys to lay more and more bricks in the way of people who want to study. and since the bologna agreement was confirmed our situation gets worse with restrictions, too many students too little room or lecturers. now some people have decided to block the biggest class room (it seats several hundret, if not a thousand people) to get the attention of more and more people. they started it on thursday and there is a demonstration planned for tomorrow. there are just so many things that don't work out well enough. i heard that people from other parts of austria have joined vienna and even some students abroad (within europe). i still have the feeling, that everything is very small and i've got a lot of doubt if our situation will get better because of this. but i think it's good that there are some people who actually show that they don't agree with this system. what do you guys think?

i agree with you. this reminds me our situation in public university about 15 years ago. public university is for free in argentina (all you have to pay is your own books and the transportation to the uni), it has a lot (plenty, i might say) of flaws but we have an excellent university education. the thing is, about 15 years ago our (worst, ever) goverment tried to change the system into a paid education. the students stayed in different faculties for weeks, kept some of them closed for several days, to save public and free university, which is a constitutional law in argentina. it was a huge movement, which became very strong, and it worked. the education of millons of studens was in real danger at that time but now they´re saved. so, i´d say there´s chances of success. i hope it works out for you and you can make the university education system better.

the most randomness these days: lothar matthäus (yes, the former capitan of german national team) will be the coach of one of the worst football teams of the last years: racing club (very popular club tough). the only i´m interesting in about his stay in argentina is i find him utterly hot!

I just wrote both Josh ritter and the Swell season's management, because Josh is to support the Swellies on their European tour (YAY), but the Copenhagen gig does not appear in either of their gig listings. Where did my gig go????
