Hi, I'm Seth from cdreviews.com. I reviewed Damien Rice's album
"O" for this week, and I would love it if you guys would check it out. It is a headliner for today (11/25/2004), but it will be up on the front page for several more days. Here is a link to the page if you are interested: http://www.cdreviews.com/index.php?o...ntent&task =view&id=296&Itemid=27 (Just so you know, I loved the album ) |

Hey Seth, Welcome to the Igloo. It's always nice to read a positive review of O and yours was indeed very positive. I thought it was nicely written for the most part. A couple of places were a little over the top (e.g. "a mournful sponge hailing lost love from a barstool while drowning sorrow in the amber brew"), but for the most part it carried itself well. You've also linked the review to www.damienrice.co.uk which is neither the official site (www.damienrice.com) nor the best site (www.eskimofriends.com), you might want to think about changing that. Your knowledge English is obviously wider than mine too as you left me scrambling for the dictionary a few times! Anyway, well done and enjoy the album. One more thing, no matter how much you like the CD, you have to see them live... simply amazing. BanjaxedEdited by: Banjaxed

yeah, definitely a very positive review by any standards, i hadn't listened to "O" in months up until a few weeks ago, isn't it weird how almost all of the songs on the album have changed so dramatically since it was recorded. Listening to live shows for so long has changed my original views on the album, i've heard a 20 minute version of 'cold water' that dosen't even sound indulgent... odd eh?

Thanks for the readership guys! I sent an email to my editor to
add the other websites to the bottom. For some reason I was under the impression that the site I listed was Damien's official. My mistake! It should be fixed shortly. |
