'Amie' drawing - anyone got it?
Sorry to be a pain, but i'm desperate to find something. I've lost my copy of the picture that was a drawing of the story Damien told at gigs about the song 'Amie'. You know the one, "you can come and sleep in my bed", "f*** me a shooting star".
I've tried searching for it on here and all over but with no luck. It was a really snazzy drawing and if anyone has it on their computer, could you please help! |

In the song he says he saw a space ship flying by the window. Yeah, the ending of that comic/story/something makes no sense to me either.
Also, did damien draw that? No offense, but it's pretty crude. I really see no insight to it. |

The storyline, though, resembles "Angry Bob". He is a literary character that Rat from the Pearls Before Swine comic strip came up with. He's always angry, tries to find peace, sometimes does, then dies . . . only to just for no reason (except for tired of dying) comes back to life, still angry, finds a new idea, and dies again . . . only to get tired of dieing to come back up again

He told the story in Montreal too, but he added some stuff that was so hilarious! He was translating each sentence in both french and english (because Montreal is billangual) and he said that the girl told him "you can come and sleep in my bed if you want", so the boy was like "hmm...really? (huge smile here)" and she said "yeah, my sister ain't at home so I'm gonna sleep in her bed..." then he was pissed off again. And Damien goes "So the boy slept alone in her bed... spent some time playing with his body... (he makes the... move... you know), then after he took a look at the sky"
heh heh that was hilarious. The story lasted like 15 minutes, he was soo drunk I must say. Last edited by DRQuebec; 10-31-2006 at 04:34 AM. |

Yeah I've had this a while, I have the file from the Paradiso too, it's called "Wee Irish boy story", I'm not sure why, because he does it in a hilarious Scots voice!
Edit: Also I took the noise at the end to be the noise of thousands of shooting stars, because in the audio file he makes a singular noise for one shooting star.

I'm pretty sure the ending is supposed to represent a big ol' sky full of shooting stars, mainly because in the UK the DVD version of the Cannonball single had a Flash animation based on this story, and at the end the big ol' sky was full of shooting stars...
