"Red Nose Happy" Lyrics
Best I could do in the dark in real time. I'm fighting against trying to understand every word he said and write it, and now fighting to understand what I scribbled. I may have the three pages out of order, I forget now, but I believe it went in this fashion. I would guess this is about 85% accurate.
I have an audio recording, it's really really quiet, not sure if I'll be able to salvage it in mastering or not, but whatever I get will eventually get out for at least the new songs. "Red Nose Happy" (Unnoficial Title) [Page 1] Shot down this time We've got words to make Sitting ___ Counting all my mistakes My nose is running in this reddened room But I am starting up the sweet of her perfume He's me ____ out And surely I am ___ He's me happy I've been the poor one Without fears in my head And I've taked refuge [Page 2) In too many beds And I feel alright now Because the rain has passed away Because ____ reminds me to stay Happy with her ___ Happy with her eyes Happy with her ____ And happy with her lies Feeling ____ And I can run ____ Feeling ____ ____ [Page 3] So shake you children Tell them not to waste Cause time just _____ Make it happ if you want to But don't be ____ The hard or too plain Cause nothing's easy But nothings hard to escape When you're happy with your ____ You can _____ assured that Im ______ I may be lost I may always ___ away my ___ And I can always wait. thank you sir! nice to see you.. do you think it was totally improvised? it sounds pretty well developed lyrically to be have been made up and sung right on the spot.. or maye it's a work in progress and he wanted audience feedback?
maybe he has all of these "emotion" songs that he's been working on and this is his fun way of introducing them with some audience interaction... that would be an interesting theme/concept for a future album if so.. looking forward to hearing it! |

No way it was improvised. It was like five minutes long... The music was completely written. The lyrics are definetly written, they were too sensical to all have been made up on the spot.
Stuff like the "Happy with her ___" part could've been made up, because they are such easy rhymes and words he uses all the time. But this is a major song. ****Forgot this: For the record, while he was trying to think of what the most recent song he'd written was, someone yelled a song name that I couldn't make out, and Damien said "Oh, no, I'm gonna play something no one's ever heard". So I don't think it's that song from minneapolis or wherever, the last time he asked for colors and body parts. |

Anyone fancy letting those of us not in the loop know when are where this song is from?
[EDIT] Worry not, I've found it. Not to Niko: Always read all the new posts before asking questions...

i love the audience interaction, what a cool way to bring out new material.. it makes the listeners feel like they have a part in the writing of it |

i just remembered something else.. when he did the color-emotion-body part thing in madison he said the same thing "there's a song you've never heard before"
it looks like he only plays this game when he's playing a song for the very first time, so if you're ever at a gig and hear him ask the audience for a color get ready to hear a new song |

Loveless, I think it was a song that may or may not have been improvised at the Hiro show. Check out the other threads on that gig and you should find some stuff on it.
