I dont think that he dislikes playing anywhere, aslong as the crowd treat him with respect and let him play his music.

In certain venues recently, including Vicar St. in Dublin, he has put
on a show, and had ignorant arseholes heckling and shouting throughout
certain songs. It seems as though they're shouting, not to ruin the
performance, but to be heard by the crowd and get a laugh. But i've
seen it were Damo would shake his head in disgust, and heard of him
having to ask people to be quiet, and as a result not perfrom any
significant encore because of it. It 's bound to affect his
performance, and if he repeatidly gets the same response from the same
venue, then i couldnt blame him for not liking the place.

But as far as not liking playing in England, i dont think thats the case.

Thats sounds a little bit more serious than, people shouting out of turn that they love him, and harmless things like that.

I didnt realise he had that kind of sh*t to deal with. Why do these
people go to the gigs in the first place? I dont understand that.

Damo's performance rely's on an intimate atmosphere, where he can play
his heart out and really reach people. And you cant have that with
those kind of arseholes shouting that sh*t at a gig.

With the gig tomorrow night in
Vicar St. Im expecting something different. Something similar to his
gigs from before the arseholes starting going. (Which is something i've
only heard about, unfortunately) .

The reason im expecting something different, is because they didnt
advertise this gig as much as they did with the others. And i've a
feeling that it'll be just the real fans. And a solo gig, seated, makes
me think it'll be the intimate Damien Rice gig atmosphere i've heard so
much about.

*Fingers crossed*

I hope he does like playing in Engaland because I want to see him, and I know enough nice decent people here in Birmingham that appreciate real talent and would love to see and hear him play.

yeh it happened on the sat of Brixton. complete assholes were shouting stupid things, not neccassarily rude but damien asked for quiet over and over... but they carried on. it no only pissed everyone off but clearly annoyed damien. ive heard he is really funny in concerts telling funny stories ad stuff but he didn't speak at all, apart form to ask for quiet so it affected his performance as well

selfish people. BUT i hope damien (sure he does) know not all english are like that
