i usually use media player to burn my cds and its never been a bother that it leaves a slight pause between track but if making a live cd this is annoying can i bypass this suggest another program anyone or anyhow. i burnt the wav files that i extracted from the shn files.

I also use Nero. You still need to select all tracks, chose "property" and set the pause from 2 to 0.

Nero seems to be a pretty good program so far

What you probably need is the latest burning plugin for media player. The free nero one is here (~6mb):
http://www.nero.com/us/wma-plugin.php Then when you go to burn your cd, you have the option of 'no pause between tracks'. That should solve it.

Also I think in Nero you need to choose the Disk at once option to get no pause between tracks although I could quite easilly be talking bollocks

It's based on Nero 6, but's it's completely independent of the mother program. You can only burn music to cd with it I think. I don't reckon there'd be any incompatibility issues...
