ftp server etiquette -- please!!

I'm glad that everyone is downloading and hopefully enjoying and spreading the tunes.

Please be considerate when logging in to the ftp servers. Hammering, nooping, etc. reduce the bandwith in/out of a machine and slow things down for everyone using the server and for the owner of the machine. Please increase the interval between retries to at least 90 seconds, or the server will temporarily ban your entry.

I've been reading posts that many users are having difficulty getting into the servers because of "too many users" or "all slots full", etc., so please limit your download to one show at a time and then log off to make room for someone else.

Also, keep in mind that this is supposed to be fun, and these servers run from private users home computers. I hate to complain, but some people are taking advantage and making it less enjoyable.
