hiya, i'm ed and i've been an alcoholic for...sorry, my old meetings always began that way...in my spare time i enjoymusic, cinema,poetry,literature, stealing (especiallybatteries from smoke alarms and dignity from anyone who isn't looking), eating (mostlylead and paint), thinking (about death or sex, or both at once),paying no heed to restraining orders, reading over shoulders (most exhilirating whilston public transport) and so on..... none of the above is true however, apart from the bit about cinema,music, lit and poetry and 'both at once'. but i willlist some bands i'm into;beauty taken from the ether and put on record; Bright Eyes, the postal service, iron and wine, hefner (now the french), the weakerthans, sage francis, belle and sebastian, okkervil river, why?, boom bip, cloudead, prefuse 73, the go-betweens, jesse malin, will oldham, four tet, love, nick drake, joy division, the smiths, the smiths, the smiths again, morrissey, decemberists, azure ray,the ladybug transistor, cat power, the pixies, jeff buckley, damien rice, elliot smith, television, sleater-kinney, le tigre, scout niblett, the be-good tanyas, leonard cohen, and on and on in no real order...

thanks for the welcomes and glad to see there is an open door policy on silly posts, such as my introduction, a leniency towards silliness often works in my favour! and pleased to see there are people of taste here, bright eyes and decembrists fans and nederlander(if thats how its spelt, if not apologies and i refer back to myplea forsimpletontolerance)
