Wow! This gig was probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen! Damien was in such a good mood and he told lots of stories about his songs (9 Crimes, Eskimo, Me, My Yoke and I, Cheers Darlin'...). And the setlist were also perfect, though I can't remember it all of the top of my head, maybe someone will come in and help out!
He also sang (at least I had never heard it) a new song.. It featured quite prominently the phrase 'you upon my pillow'... anyone recognize? And he sort of improvised a song about Stockholm , and another song which was just about how ridiculous everything is ^^ I don't know what more to say right now, really since I'm much to overwhelmed to actually speak at all... Awesome gig, not least Bell x1 who wer much better live than I thought they would be! Thank you Damien! |

aww, I wished I'd seen him in Stockholm too, cause he didn't talk at all between the songs in Copenhagen. But well, the concert was fantastic anyway

Having seen Damien a couple of times before, this show was a bit of a let down.
The concert was good, but not great. Lots of talking from Damien, including some funny stories about masturbating, exploring your body and giving money to charity. He also asked the crowd for a cigarette. He got a cigarette and lit it, after that he was told that it was against the law to smoke indoors in Sweden, the look on his face at that time was pretty funny and he was like “oh, ehh, this is part of the show”. Good versions of some songs (accidental babies, i remember to name a few) . The band seemed to be in better mood then during the last couple of shows. During the encore Damien looked really drunk/****ed up. The whole ”ridiculous”-improv/what ever thing, was kinda sad ”it's kinda ridiculous that people pay to see me get drunk on stage”. I got the impression that everything was not perfect/great “behind the scenes”, but that might be me reading to much into things. The set was long and ended with a good version of Accidental Babies. I didn't write down the set list due to the fact I was videotaping the show.. Unfortunately something got ****ed up with the recording and i ended up with picture but no sound! I saw other people recording the show so there should hopefully be recordings floating around soon. Good concert, but not great. I missed Lisa. |

OH! You get my hopes up so much for a recording, it's ridiculous! Sorry about yours :/
There was a stupid review in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet. It said that the show began with him acoustic, without a mice singing The Animals were Gone. He began with non-acoustic The Professor and then he sang I Remember without a microphone in the beginning.. He didn't even sing The Animals were Gone.. Stupid! |

This what I remember he played (not in the correct order)
The Professor Cannonball Delicate Blower's daughter -- Creep Nine Crimes Dogs Me my yoke I remember Volcano Woman like a man Eskimo Rootless tree Delicate Coconut Skins Cheers Darlin' Accidental babies "She comes out so slow" was the new song. I loved the concert. Damien was philosophical and in a good mood. Just wish that the sound in the arena had been better. The flash photography during the first song was just insane. I was afraid that's how the entire concert was going to be. He played the first part of Volcano on piano. Has he ever done that before? It was great. And he sang "she's still an asshole" instead of "still too young" one time. For some reason I thought it was funny, it's like he had someone special on mind. Vyv forgot to play during My yoke. Damien had to remind her. Hehe Accidental babies was boring live. I like that song, but I wish that there were more instruments involved. Is there a reason he never plays Prague anymore? That's the only song I miss. And I remember wasn't angry enough. He seemed really "cheerful" maybe that's why. He sang something new during that song but I couldn't hear it because of the lousy sound. Maybe that was the part about Stockholm. |

Great pictures!!! Looks like he's bought a new shirt and I loved your pics from 2003, those 2 at the bottom of the page, wow!!
I don't understand why he's not playing Prague anymore. Same with Lonely soldier. I think he hasn't played them since 2006. maybe someone could remind him... So the song someone was mentioning as 'new' was in fact Slow? Can't remember if it has a line about a 'pillow', maybe he's added something new... and funny how each review is different, we go from crap to amazing... |

Nono, it was definitely not Slow.. It was probably not even a real song.. Or I don't know.. There ware so many weird interludes yesterday.. Maybe if someone (pleasepleaseplease) posts a recording it'll all clear up.

It's the most common one, I think.. Just download any bootleg if you want the full one.. But in short, he bumped into a girl and bought her a drink. They had a lovely time and he thought he was in.. So he missed his last bus to stay with her but then her boyfriend comes to pick her up.. she leaves him three cigarettes and her wine and walks away.. And so he starts singing 'cheers darlin...' sort of ^^ You need to her it from him, but that's the general idea..

I just double checked and the pillow line is from Old Tomatoes. He always plays it as introduction to Delicate as far as I know

I added Old Tomatoes/Delicate to my 4shared folder (http://www.4shared.com/dir/2208578/4...0/sharing.html)
I also added the funniest Cheers darlin story I have, which is from Saratoga 06, Damien was a bit drunk (the gig was in a winery you know) and super funny... Enjoy! |

yes, the concert was amazing.. i loved every bit of it!
he told as (some allready said) al lot of great stories, awesome.. he did some really great extensions one of I remember (not the usual one), a reggae version of volcano where he made up some stuff abour stockholm, he faded into creep during Blowers Daughter and when he ended with accidental babies at the encore they did a very beautiful extension.. Overall i think the gig was amazing! it sitll really haven't sunk in that i actually was there yet, but i hope that i'll realize it soon. :P |
