Can we have the old Igloo back please :)

Saddens me that the Igloo is no longer the nice & cozy place it used to be, where people were here together sharing the love and passion for Damien.

for instance, if you go to Youtube, lately there's comments of random people talking about the fights at Eskimofriends. Sad!!! There's even starting new forums and asking people to move there!!

I really don't mind fights as long as they don't spill over to other threads. It adds much-needed activity and it also entertains me. I mean, the thread in question is practically the only one that gets regular posts. It might not be pretty, but why should everything be pretty?

I really don't get why having a heated, irrational argument on an internet forum is the end of the Igloo and the world as we know it. Such things are perfectly fine, as long as the moderators keep them within certain limits. If people don't want the argument be the main thing happening, then they should start to actively participate in different discussions.

I think it's not so much the fact that there is an argument.
I think this should stop because of what the argument is.

It's a few people trying to convince a guy who's tired of Damien to just have some patience with it. Which is clearly not going to work.

So in that way. Yeah I think this argument in particular should just stop.

everything will be back to normal once Damien tours or releases something again. Until then, some people need something to talk about, so let them talk...
The really dangerous thing for us would be becoming less nice when welcoming new users... and I'm afraid we've done that a couple times this year. Other than that, as Rai said, I don't mind fights as long as they are limited to one thread and moderated... Of course I'd prefer if they were about Damien's music instead of how an asshole he is as a persone or whatever, but if someone wants to waste his time talking **** about an artist, it's his choice, so just do it and maybe I'll read when I have nothing else to do - but at the moment I usually skip the New Album in Spring thread because it's not even a good fight, it got bored at the third post imho. But if people enjoy fighting, let them fight, I think they'll just get bored too at some point or maybe just realize it's pointless.

and I totally agree glo - was thinking the exact same thing - once reports start coming in from the tour it should get the positive vibes going again

I think there were always people writing similar things - it just drowned more because the igloo was more active, I think.

Like Rai I think it's fine with different opinions, even the annoying ones. God, some are REALLY annoying though. Why repeat the same thing over and over about an artist whose music they don't even care about? Beats me and annoys me. I guess that's also a sort of entertainment.

I can cite a couple of ****storms that were way worse than this. This is barely a combination of lack of activity and a few people being obtuse about things they have no control over.

Hi guys, sorry we're not around as much to keep an eye on things... this stuff is best handled by stopping it before it escalates. There is a report post button somewhere isn't there? If anything starts to kick off click that and we'll take a look.

When dealing with this type of forum there will always be people taking huge offence when none was intended, which will lead to intended offence, etc... Text is hard to get an emotional interpretation from. I don't think this place has changed much other than being quieter while awaiting new material. Just as I said, calmer heads need to diffuse misunderstandings as early as possible.

Let us know if anything needs looking at
