Default This christmas in Dublin and Whelans' show

Just booked tickts and hotels to spend a few days in Dublin...around Christmas.

Also got tickets for Whelan's christmas show (I XMAS on the 22nd of Dec. )

It says...

"A SPECIAL NIGHT OF SONG FEATURING SOME OF IRELAND’S BEST AND BEST LOVED SONGWRITERS AND MUSICIANS" http://www.whelanslive.com/index.php/i-%e2%99%a5-xmas/

I am hoping Damien comes on the stage... or see him busking on the eve ~
If I do see him, I will let you all know.. hahahah

Good chance he might?

That's awesome! Hope he will be busking again this Christmas eve.
I wanted to go (again), but decided to stay home this year and have a lazy holiday...

Have fun at Whelan's and Dublin (cause it's a beautiful city).

hey, sorry... i spent a couple of days in dublin and then i had to catch up with some stuff.

thereīs not really much to say. the busking was brilliant but grafton street was mentally packed! i didnīt manage to get a good spot for quite long but i could listen anyway. glen is always at his best and enjoying himself. i didnīt think damien would be part of it this year, but he was there in the end. he showed up quite late and got to the "the stage" (there was a small one) joined but the choir (then, i knew he would sing trusty and true eventually ). i felt he was kind of one of the highlights as glen "announced" him ("now, my friend damien rice is joining).

damien sang TBD at first and he missed a bit of his voice, i think, as he tried to "project" it to reach everybody. still beautiful. straight after, he sang trusty and true with the choir (lovely end). people was shouting "one more, damo", which was great to hear, but he wouldnīt sing. he jumped off the stage and got lost in the crowd, i think.

iīm not sure how comfortable he felt, as it didnīt seem to be a busking, but more like an outdoor charity gig... but i think it was nice of him to join, even it was only for two song, and to take the choir with him.

but, he didnīt say much, except when he thanked after the songs and when he introduced the choir.

EDIT: haha, i just saw the post on the igloo homepage. i am on facebook after all my pleasure, em. iīm sorry i have no video. i was away all day and my phone was about to die. i took a pic or two but they are ****e, especially becuase i only caught damien lenaing back, pft!

Hey everybody.

I have made a decision this year that I am going to be in Ireland for next christmas/christmas eve....

So far, I'm going by myself and I have a few questions. I'm very interested in seeing if they have a christmas eve busk and would love to be a part of it, are there any tips to me getting the most out of this?

I'm from new jersey and will be flying out of Newark...Anyone want to join in? The websites aren't letting me bring up tickets, but I tried some dates for next early december and they were about $6-700 for a round trip...Which isn't terrible. Let's make it a group endeavor...

got the feeling this busking thing was better in the past when they were roaming the streets here and there and singing altogether... since they started with the stand thing, itīs more like people arrive, play their song, then leave... in the past I was always tempted to go but not anymore I think...
