Damien Rice Mixtape - "In the Mean Time"
Hello eskimos!
Due to all of this excitement and the return of so many faces (along with new ones as well) I figured it would be worth throwing together a "mixtape" or playlist of sorts, for anyone who may have missed out on all things in between. All of these tracks are officially released songs (originals, live, covers, etc...) released in between the time of 9 and the forthcoming new album. They have either been released by Damien himself, or feature him as a guest vocalist. Please, if I have missed any let me know, I'm half hoping I did so I can discover some new tracks too! Without further adieu... Quote:
OR Look at it like it's three separate EPs Quote:
* - Original, previously unreleased track ** - Live Songs officially released and available via iTunes, despite the live videos, although the iTunes tracks are higher quality recordings of the same performances in said videos ("Live Earth" "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Vol. 10: 2008-2009 (Live)" available in iTunes Hat tip to this wikipedia article, reminding me of a few I missed Last edited by Cremallero; 09-11-2014 at 04:51 PM. |

Indeed. Always really liked this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_hLIkQBRBs
It seems he also left off the list "The Power of Orange Knickers" duet with Tori Amos.

Spamlet, I think I may ave missed "The Power of Orange Knickers" because it came out before "9", so it didn't fit the whole in between theme i was going for. But I could be wrong...[/quote]
I guess I misread the list as being things that came out between "O" or "9". Let's be honest, a lot of stuff you cited was extremely old songs that often even predated the first record but just never had a properly released recording. Born, when did he finally put out "Cross-eyed Bear"? Wasn't that after 9? Thought I remembered him opening with it in Philly (Tower Theatre) when I saw him play there with Mario. And how about "Lonely Soldier"?

Cross-eyed bear was officially put out on Help: A Day in the Life in 2005 and Lonely Soldier (at least the one with Christy Moore) was released in 2004 I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What about the 'you're the one that I want' cover with Julia Stone?
And I don't want to nag, but should we share these mp3s? These are all songs that have been properly released and are easy to buy... |

yes, Lonely Soldier is 2004 and Cross-eyed Bear is 2005, both pre-9
and yes, you should add the You´re the One that I Want duet. It was officially released in this compilation called The Flowerpot Sessions there is also Needles, Damo song but done by Lisa on the Cake Sale album, but not sure if that´s post 9... I´d say so... but not 100% sure...

Although sharing officially released recordings on youtube or downloading them to your phone comes very close. I'm not sure, because I didn't download the mp3s, but I guess you're sharing original quality mp3, not youtube downloads. Also, this is a lot easier and I can't see anyone buying a digital download after they've downloaded these. Maybe a spotify playlist would have been a good alternative? (And now I'll quit nagging, sorry I promise I didn't wave my index finger while writing this ) Last edited by carrroline; 09-11-2014 at 07:28 AM. |

Hey all,
is there any chance that someone can re-upload that folder? I use to have so many of these unreleased songs before I left to new and strange foreign lands and left my pc back at my family's house. As, probably the same with most of you, some of his unreleased and live songs are some of my favourites so it would be nice to have some of those back in the mix of the soundtrack of my life again also really looking forward to the new album |

well... i actually didn´t know it either, hehe. she was mentioned on an argentinian newspaper and i decided to check her stuff out... and voilà!
damien also co-wrote "otra vez" All songs written by Mia Maestro Si AGUA written by Mia Maestro & Aaron Robinson OTRA VEZ written by Mia Maestro & Damien Rice i pressume he worked on the music as the lyrics as 100% in spanish... but who knows i do like the album and i´m much into her style... it´s her voice that just doesn´t get me completly, though i think she has worked quite much on it to improve it... all in all, kudos to her. well done, mia
