does any one else think that damiens next album wont get the
same vibe as his first, as he has become more of a celeb now than what he was? |

i think most of the songs that will be on it, we may have heard already, he's performed them for a while now so would have written them some time ago. id imagine he has a good deal of control over what it will sound like, and cant see why he would change a winning formula. he has said the next album will be a lot "heavier" though

I hope not Its been so hard getting here- I say we have a February celebration!!! And we should have a big party when the new album comes out!!!I'm now composing a song about February. B-Sides was darker than O. Mainly because of Woman like a man- the funniest song-I admit.

Maybe this wait is good,he needs time toperfect it ! Not just a 'lets getit out there just for the sake of getting it out there' attitude! I'd prefer to wait ten years for an album the same quality of O then not wait at allan get an average album !!! Not that i wanna wait ten years though!!!

Well, it won't be another O, if that's what you mean. A lot of the live stuff is 'heavier' than most of O anyway, and besides, we already have O so we don't really want another version! Personally I think that if Damien had tried to do the same thing again you could guarantee it wouldn't be as good, but by going in another direction...ooohh, it's so exciting! But does anyone know if tracks like Blowers Daughter part II, Woman Like a Man, The Professor etc. will be on there? I love all the songs to pieces but in a way it would be nice to hear something completley new when the album comes out...like when I first got O and hadn't heard any of the songs before, and when Delicate started up I got shivers down my spine...and by the end of 'Amie' I was a sobbing wreck...when something completley new affects you like that it's one of the most amazing feelings in the world. So I hope there'll be some new surprises on the new album.

I think I read someone somewhere saying that they expected The
Professor & La Fille Danse and Woman Like a Man to be on the new album. I personally think that'd be a bit cheeky, what with the Woman Like a Man EP already existing and everything. Who was it who hooked you up with a copy of that, by the way Xanthe? Whoever it was must be a really very fabulous person. Anyhoo, if they were included I think they'd have to be in radically new versions; I can't really see that happening with WLAM, although it'd be nice to have an officially recorded version with Vyvienne on it. I think The Blower's Daughter part II is pretty much a given, but I'm also hoping for Insane and Face. Not to be confused with an</span> insane face, because I've already got one of those.

yeah, i was at a show once a couple years ago when he was talking about having enough songs written that he could release an album of happy, corny songs and an album of angry louder songs...the latter of the albums would be called (jokingly) "x"

i think it'll shake up his public image of "poet" and "soft" and other crap adjectives. specially if woman like a man and me, my yoke and i are on it.
if he releases a new album at all he'd better get up off his arse and tour ireland. i'm seriously getting sick of waiting for this guy. there's only so many times i can stand the same singles being released over and over again.

:Smiley4: yeah, as usual it'll be out in a few weeks... if you consider the songs that he's said on different occasions that will be on it... The Blower's Daughter Part II, Then Go, My My Yoke And I, Face, Insane, Baby Sister, Woman Like A Man, Tongue, Nine Crimes, Fool, Rootless Tree etc. it's easy enough to get an idea of what it will be like... i'm sure he has a few surprises up his sleeve, but i wouldn't expect more then 3 songs that i haven't heard, also i wouldn't expect a change in the amount of songs on the album...
I think it might be nice to finally have a proper studio version of the Woman Like A Man, because the ep one is an unplugged radio session. If you actively trade music then you can't complain when an album comes out and you've heard the songs, that's the price of open trading... it would be unfair to expect the band to come up with more then 2 or 3 songs that they haven't played live.

i think it will be a lot different because i reckon he has grown a lot since a lot of the "O" songs were written
